Heather said: "Hello and welcome to Featherish, John. Congrtas on the weight you've lost! That is spectacular. It sounds like a very moderate diet and regular exercise have been the ticket for you. Do you have any before and after pictures?"
Heather said: "You look great. You don't even look like the same person.. the hat makes you look like a fisherman in your after picture. I'm sure that your wife looks great with 55 less pounds on her frame, too.."
Heather said: "You're welcome! You should be able to add them as an attachment using the "Manage Attachments" button below.. then upload from your PC."
Darren said: "John, you have a lot to be proud of. The difference in the photos is truly amazing. Nice work."
Darren said: "Hi John. Welcome aboard. It sounds like you've been able to keep the weight off? How did you do it?"
shy_doll said: "WOW! You look great!! Like a totally different person. Way to go!! Thx for posting your pics, it's always a great motivator to actually see the changes others have made.....and I'm sure your wife looks just as great. Congrats again on the loss. :)"
shy_doll said: "Glad to meet ya John...Welcome to Featherish :) I wish my hubby would be more of a team player with me...that would be awesome! Congrats on the weight loss to both you and your wife."
klynnfosh said: "Welcome John, and congratulations on your success! You look like a different person than the before! I would say what you are doing has worked great and to keep up the good work. If we all would get back to eating more whole natural unprocessed foods we would all be much healthier. Great inspiration for us all!"

Matt_9 said: "My time frame is assuming I lose 6-8 pounds a month. It sounds/is reasonable and I know I can do it. Don't really have any great plan, I just eat lean cuisine 2/3 times a day. Some days I eat oatmeal in place of meals, or Special K Red Berries cereal. I'm just following a low fat/calorie diet, I don't take in anything more than 1500 calories per day. I don't exercise much because I work the night shift and for the entire 8 hour shift I am on my feet walking from the front of the store, to the back. To the front, to the back. And I lift easily over 35, 50 pound boxes a night. We have to sort everything out in the back room, you sweat a LOT and it's a work out in itself. But on my days off I do try to do a lot of walking - I'll walk to the store instead of driving. Walking is my main exercise. Although now that winter is coming and I live in New England I'm not sure how that's gonna work out. I know I'm not going to want to walk anywhere when it's 10 degrees out. I'll probably be signing up to a gym, when I get the money."
Matt_9 said: "What an inspiration! Thanks John. Before and after posts like this make me anxious for the day when I can finally post my pics. I already have a great (who would call an obese picture of me 'great'?) before pic, now I'm waiting for the satisfying after photo. I'm looking at July/August of next year as being the timeframe that I reach my goal."
mahesh67 said: "Yeah. this was very inspirational for real. :th_dblthumb2:"
freestyler said: "Wow - what a difference. You must be so proud of what you've accomplished. You're a true motivation. I guess now the only 'problem' you have is what you're going to set your mind to now your weight isn't such an issue! :) what a nice problem to have =) Well done John! Oh.. and please go to the ticker place and get a ticker which will show everyone else you speak to just how much you have lost! (in case you're wondering, as I was.. when you make your ticker you just take the line of code from the top box it generates that says vbulletin and post it into the signature part of your profile!)"
John_KY said: "Thanks! Oh, I've got plenty of issues to complicate my life at present. One down. Six to go...:) And thanks for the ticker tip. I was wondering how folks were doing that."
John_KY said: "Thanks Matt and Heather! Matt, Keep your goal in mind and you'll knock the rest out by your target date. Your time frame sounds very reasonable. Never good to drop it too fast. What strategies are you using? Congrats on your progress so far! John"
John_KY said: "Thanks you guys! That kind of encouragement never gets old. Yes. I believe that easy, cheap processed foods are a big reason obesity is the national problem it is now."
John_KY said: "Thanks! We follow the same basic plan we did when we were actively losing weight. A low-glycemic, high-fiber diet, and of course regular exercise. We live way out in the boonies and try and get a 2 mile hike in most nights. Other times we make the hours drive in to the Y and get in maybe an hour of swimming for variety. We definately get more calories now, but know more about good choices and have gotten more experienced about where to draw the line without having to count everything. We went off entire categories of food cold-turkey and don't touch them now. Sort of like any other kind of addict. But we've found it's important to make substitutions with treats that won't put us back in bad habits. We eat a mostly whole food diet now. Vegetables, lower-glycemic fruits, lots of legumes, some whole grains, nuts and seeds, some low-fat dairy, a little lean meat. Organic when we can. It's an not an inexpensive way to eat. We cut corners where we can. Buy non-perishables in bulk. We figure our health is worth it. Hope that's not too much detail! I get carried away talking about this stuff. John"
John_KY said: "Thanks! Lots of folks I hadn't seen in a year or more simply didn't recognize me when I ran into them. Of course doing away with my hair the year after, probably made that more likely too. My wife is much healthier and feels much better about her appearance. We are more active and certainly enjoy life more. Although her weight loss may have been a contributing factor in her requiring gall bladder surgery shortly afterwards. She still says it was well worth it. She's also a little more shy about giving me "before" photos to post online. The hat's a Tilley and does a good job keeping the sun off of my now unshaded head. John"
John_KY said: "Thanks Heather. I usually hide the "before" photos, but I can dig one up. :) How do I post them? John"
John_KY said: "Thanks again Heather. Here are a couple I could find quickly. No jokes about the hat! John"
John_KY said: "Hi, Not sure if this is the right area to introduce myself, but I didn't see a specific one right off... I'm a 37 year-old guy from Kentucky. I lost 110 lbs in 2000-01 over the course of about 9 months and have managed to keep it off since. I used a low-glycemic diet based mostly on the CRON diet. My wife lost about 55 lbs at the same time using the same strategy. I believe it was easier for both of us in that it was a team effort. We are both pretty happy now with our level of fitness. I'm here to find conversation about maintenance issues, post-weight loss health issues, share stories, look for good recipe ideas, etc. Good to meet you all, John"
JasonMinus100Pounds said: "Apologies for bringing a thread back from the dead here, but..wow This is the kind of inspiration I need right now. I imagine I am not alone either. So back from the dead comes this thread for a another round of congratulations for John. You are a powerful inspiration to those of us that have yet to do it. Unbelieveable."
