Water Exercise Equipment
A great low impact exercise to start, or enhance your workout program is by using a pool and water exercise equipment.
There are many types of water exercise equipment.
- Water Exercise Belts. These are worn at your waist and help to aid in bouyancy while water walking or water jogging. They also help to prevent low back strain.
- Kickboards. These are placed in front of you while swimming laps. They help to keep you afloat while kicking. These are also used for swimming lessons.
- Water Barbells. These are made out of styrofoam or other materials that float. Held in your hand, you build strength by using the resistance of the water.
Water exercise is great for people of all ages. Older folks that suffer from arthritis can greatly benefit from exercise in warmer water. Water exercise is widely used to help people rehabilitate after surgery. Since water is like space, and you are weightless, there is no impact on knees, hips and joints.
If you are embarking on a weight loss program and have a significant amount of weight to lose, water exercise and water exercise equipment can help add some tone and definition without the strain of injury.
