Simple Diet
The best kind of diet to follow is a simple one.
In todays day and age there are so many diets to choose from. You have low carb based diets like the South Beach or Atkins. These types of diets require you to cut back on the amount of carbohydrates that you eat daily. Both of these diets help you to lose weight quickly, but are often difficult to follow long term because you have to cut back or eliminate carbs such as breads, pastas, rice and some fruits and vegetables. If you do not like to eat a lot of meat, the low carb approach probably won't be something that will appeal to you.
The most basic and simple diet you can follow is one that you can stick to for a lifetime to lose weight and keep it off. Some tips for following a simple diet:
- Avoid foods that are fried. This includes potato chips, french fries, most appetizers, elephant ears, battered fish, corn dogs and many other goodies immersed in vegetable oil. Replace regular soda, which is high in sugar and carbohydrates, with a diet version or better yet, plain water. This can eliminate a great number of calories from your daily intake.
- Start each meal with a salad, this helps to fill your stomach prior to your main meal. Better yet, just have a salad as your main course.
- Try to plan your meals. This helps to reduce waste of food.
- Exercise Exercise helps to burn excess calories and keep our bodies in tip top conditioning.
- Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. They contain vitamins and minerals that help to fuel your body.
Dieting doesn't have to be difficult, you just have to make common sense decisions on what you want to fuel your body with.
