Advantages of an all liquid diet
The biggest advantage of a liquid diet, is that initially it helps dieters lose a great deal of weight. This fact generally serves to motivate the dieter, and keep them interested in remaining on the diet.
Disadvantages of liquid diets
Liquid diets can cause rapid weight loss, but this rapid weight loss can be detrimental to the long term metabolism of the dieter. Many people who lose weight fast in a crash diet system end up gaining it back and more.
Liquid diets are growing in popularity, partly because many weight loss professionals in them, but also partly because the meal replacement segment is big business to manufacturers. There are many examples of people who have lost weight using these drinks, but there is an equal number of failures.
