It is like starvation . burn more calories than the intake. This is a short cut to success. Losing that almost permanent feature in the body . unwanted fat.
There are various opinions about crash diet. If you are grossly overweight and follow a strict crash diet regimen, you can lose weight fast. Maybe after losing this unwanted fat if you eat and live healthy you can maintain a good figure. This is one school of thought. Others say that .we may think that we can fool our bodies, but actually we cannot.. Crash diets never work. They say that the desired weight loss might be achieved, but the pounds creep back as soon as we start eating again. This is because the metabolism rate that has slowed down cannot process the incoming calories and, therefore, stores them as fat.
Now here is something alarming! On a crash diet, each pound of weight loss contains more lean tissue and less body fat than a diet that produces moderate weight loss. You are losing more muscle than fat! A crash diet will slow you down. Both physically and mentally. If you do not eat enough food to fuel your body, the metabolism rate slows down to make up for it. Your body's additional need for energy to fuel physical activity slows even further when your body lacks fuel. The result is that the body conserves energy and burns fat at a slower rate when crash diets are used.
On the other hand, reducing calories gradually preserves your hard earned muscle and gives you the energy you need to burn even more fat.
