Keeping it Hot with the Hot Dog Diet
The Hot Dog Diet
The hot dog diet is one that never quite gained the fame it deserved. Although a favorite staple among baseball fans, it was never followed for much longer than the ninth inning.
If you eat hot dogs while on a diet, be sure to account for the calories. Depending on brand of hot dog, there could be as many as 250 calories per hot dog. Condiments such as cheese, sauerkraut, catsup, mustard will add extra calories.
Reduced fat or no fat hot dogs may be available as an alternative to a regular hot dog. Most can be prepared the same way as regular hot dogs. Boiled, grilled or prepared in the microwave.
The hot dog diet isn't recommended as a long term diet plan to follow. Although hot dogs are easy to prepare, a salad can also be enjoyed with just a few minutes of preparation and will provide more vitamins and nutrients that hot dogs do not.
A few obvious drawbacks: * Hot Dogs are not the best choice for daily nutrition * You will become bored following a one component diet * Lack of successful adherents. I have never met someone who lost weight on the hot dog diet
