Don't hate me, but....Don't hate me, but....

I've got to find some healthy ways to sneak calories in. I don't want to gain a whole lot, but 5 lbs would probably fill me out fine. I built up a lot of muscle and I can tell that it is using up all my fat! So a yogurt and some extra meat every day should help out. Haha, maybe I'll go splurge and get a good ice cream cone or something ;)
Just remember y'all...if you set a goal weight and fall below it and think it'd be hard to maintain the weight loss or you look kinda sick, I'd recommend changing your goal weight.
Right now, I look really cut. Too cut for a woman. I guess I wasn't really paying attention to increasing calories as I increased the training. So yeah, it's possible to be on the wrong end the other way too...being underweight's not healthy either!"
spectrachic311 said: "Yeah, there's ways to gain weight healthfully. I've got to get my extra calories from good unsaturated fats and healthy lean protein and whole grains. Probably not from lots of Oreos or ice cream. My husband believes that I need more root beer floats :) It's not going to be all that hard to gain some weight back, it's going to be hard to stay in control of gaining it back. I can't just pig out for a couple of weeks because that could be bad. Truly, I love my body and I don't really want to get all that much bigger, so I'll just be careful and get my butt back at 115. ;)"
spectrachic311 said: "Gosh, this is hard work :) I don't want to just eat crap all the time, so I've been eating more protein and dairy and nuts. Haha...maybe I'll just add in a bunch of dairy products and sue the dairy companies because it made me gain weight like those people in the news, lol. I guess I underestimated the power of good exercise on the human metabolism. Or else I thought mine was just slower than everyone elses. Something like that. I am eating like crazy and I haven't gained much yet. It will happen though, my husband will make sure of it. Haha, he's so funny...he's like "Britt, you have to eat this cake so you gain weight!" Problem is, I like eating healthy foods too much! My digestive system always has been sensitive to high fat food, so when I eat it I feel like I've eaten a rock. Nuts and avocados are my fat sources of choice right about now, so I'm trying to load up on them.
Cuz, yeah, I don't want to be too skinny. I'm already starting to look kind of "cut" and boyish, which would be okay except that I miss my feminine curves just a bit. I can't imagine losing any more weight...I think I'd look really bizarre. Kind of like how Nicole Richie looks right now....gross.
But yeah, the marathon schedule...it's kickin' my butt, that's for sure. Basically, you have to do about one really long run per week. Really long means like, 15 miles. I do 4-5 milers 4 days a week and my 13-15 miler on Sunday. Then Monday is off; I do yoga or strength training to let my muscles recover some. Usually on Thursday I do my mid-distance run of 7 miles or so. If you do want to do a marathon, I suggest you work up to where you can comfortably run 3 miles. After that, increasing the distances becomes pretty easy. I can run 5 miles without hardly feeling it sometimes, so that's why I decided to up my distances and do speed intervals so my body doesn't adapt and reach a plateau. Small warning for you though: If you plan to run more than 5-6 miles at a time, bring some fuel with you. I like those PowerBars or Clif Bars. Or a banana, if you can. Sometimes I plan my running route so that I go by a gas station where I can get a banana and a PowerAde. Oh, and stay really hydrated...you will sweat a lot!"
lotusleaf said: "well, good for you for recognising that you were underweight-thats such a good thingbas people can take it too far, so just enjoy your icecream and have one for me too!!!! :)"
Sassysurfnic said: "Wow, I think is all I have to say. It's a good thing that you recognized that you might have to thin. I think sometimes people get to caught up in the whole loosing weight thing that they just keep dropping pounds and then they get to a point where they look sick and emiciated, but keep loosing weight. So good for you for being so grounded. Also, I have a question for you.....what was your exersice and eating scheduel like to train for your upcomming marathon? I participate in the Susan G. Koman walk every year in Philly (on Mother's Day) and this past year as we were all watching the runners line up, I decided I wanted to run the race next year (not just walk it as I have been doing). Anywho, I can't seem to get into a scheduel. My days basically consist of working 8:30am -5:30 pm and then class monday and wednesday nights(no break what so ever, I don't even get to eat dinner those nights :( ). Tuesdays and thursdays is stuff like laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning ect. I have been very busy on the weekends lately so not a whole lot of time there either(I know I am making this difficult, sorry :o ) Basically any tips or exersice scheduels would be great!"

Wish I had to think what can I eat to put on or maintain weight rather than what can I eat to lose weight. Oh well one day I hope."
