A year ago I found that I took 4 months off of the gym and read through my diaries. I am about 5 inches less everywhere then when I started at the gym now. I took 4 months off and gained every bit of weight back. I started 295 lbs and went down to 235 lbs. I quit 4 months and went back up to 265 lbs. I am now, after 5 months, down to 248. It is frustrating and a lot of work when you stop or give up and then when you start again, you won't stop thinking about why you stopped in the first place. I quit smoking in the month I started back at the gym February 2005, and also stopped my depression medication. I am down about 24 inches since I started back at the gym, walking and weight lifting at home. I wish for no one to stop or give up because the battle is harder the second time around. Each time you stop, the first day at the gym is real rough and you get real sore the first night. I would not go back, even if someone paid me to. The feelings of acomplishment from trucking on and not looking back is like a drug. It feels so good. It is elevating and mood altering, not to mention the energy boost you get after a month of a strong continuous regiman. I say keep strong and keep going up those stairs one at a time, the higher you go, the less you fall back."

Don't give the feelings you have more life than what they deserve.
Just get started again, and forget about the past few days. Every day is a new day, and you can paint it however you want!"

Good luck."

For example if I don't exercise tomorrow...no American Idol.
And I've GOT to have my Idol. :)"

For the past 2 weeks, my will power has just disapeared in a puff of smoke. The alcohol is creeping back in (i do love a glass of wine or 2!), i cant be botherd to get on my exercise bike and do my toning exercises, i cant be bothered to do my yoga, i just seem to be running out of steam and need a kickstart to get going again. how have you all managed to over come times like these?? i really know that exercise is a major key in weight loss, but i find it so hard , and my will power to say no to certain foods is going going gone!!!"
lotusleaf said: "thanks folks, sometimes its good to hear people giving you a gentle nudge to remind you of what you are doing and why! Im going upstairs right now to get on my exercise bike and do 20 mins, followed by some toning exercises!!"

loobe said: "Hi lotus
I will give you the kick start you need in the pool, I will nag you go at least once every week and see if you can match me length for length as that will make me increase the amount of lengths I swim.
Forgive yourself for being human as I said its ok to fall of the healthy eating once in awhile just start again. Believe in yourself that you can do it and you will. Please remind me I said this when I lose motivation lol."
