HELP, in need of motivation!

natefan87 said: "Hey guys and gals. Ive been working out for a while but as of lately my workout routines have been somewhat sparatic (spelling? lol). My schedule only allows me to go every so often, but ive been going to the gym every opportunity i get. I started a muscle blasting class which really works out my whole body. They use the body bar for squats, shouldres, arms, etc. And then crunches on a ball or a mat. Im not seeing any results at all. After this upcoming weekend ill be able to go to the gym every day if i want, and im going to. Im having troulbe eating right. And everytime i go to a website to give me advice and techniques on how to get in shape it just makes me discouraged or confused. Im scared im gonna have loose skin, or that my belly pudge will never tighten up to a six pack, or that ill always have a soft chest, and flabby arms. I wanna be toned with no fat hanging around. I understand its gonna take a long time but damn, ive been working at this for almost a year and have seen little to no changes. This is what i usually do for workout routine (when im consistant) Monday -- 1 hr of cardio (mostly elliptical but i add in some other things for variety) Tuesday -- Muscle Blasting Class Wednesday -- 1 hr cardio Thursday -- Muscle Blasting Class Friday -- 1 Hr cardio Saturday -- full body workout Sunday -- off. So if anyone could help me with some advice on how tone up just like u, please spread the love lol. Thanks. Oh, and ive already lost lots of weight, 50 lbs. I still need to lose about 20 though. Im 6 foot and weigh about 200. Id like to be at 175-180"

Changing your routine around will help, also eating a base of 1200-1500 calories a day to maintain weight. The more you workout, the more you need to eat. Drink lots of water to help reduce water retention. You could switch days around, what you would do on a monday is what you would say do on a thursday. Allways remember to have a day of rest. It is good to atleast take it fairly easy on one day a week, switching that around as well. I go to www.fitday.com for a weight management, food chart and exercise calculation. As for lose skin, I was 295 lbs september 14 2003 and right now I am 249 lbs, I don't have a lot of lose skin due to doing a gradual weight loss. I can't see that happening once you tone your body and do a gradual weight loss. It can be frustrating at not seeing immediate results. It is frustrating not seeing results after a year. You have to be patient and just keep on trecking on, it will come off. I have been going to the gym for a year now and it is finally coming off. Everyone is different, if you just be patient and give yourself credit for the work you have done and are doing, the weight will be off before you know it. Just do not get discouraged. Keep it coming and make sure you eat atleast 1500 calories a day. If you don't, your body can go into a starvation mode and keep the body weight and refuse to budge. Eating the right foods will work with you, eating the high calorie, high fat content foods will be what work against you and keep you where you are. You can do this. Allways remember, the scale shows all around weight loss, the tape measure shows exact progress, so if you are curious on where it is exactly you are losing the weight, pick up your tape measure every 2 weeks and measure yourself."

My fiance is 6'1" and weighs about 185. He looks pretty good at that weight, but he has a soft tummy that he wants to get rid of. Don't give up! You can do it :)"

I'm not very good with estimating how much a guy should weigh. My fiance is 5 foot 8 and 170 pounds and I think he looks good. So I'm just saying...you may look better than you think. Keep up the healthy exercise routine, it will only make you look even better! Also, if diet has been a problem, once you're able to clean that up, you might notice quite a bit of change."
