I have told her numerous times that if she don't eat enough her body will hold on to every thing she eats cause it is trying to hold on to the food it needs. I am 5' 7'' I weighed 265, but now weigh about 170 . I eat twice a day and a small snack at night. seems to work for me. I did weigh about 155 but got pregnate last year and have gained about 15 lbs but am now working on that. So anyway maybe when she is dieting she is not eatting enough."

I know for myself too that I had to work out some self esteem issues that I blamed on my weight. But the truth is that the gain of weight was a result of low self esteem. Help her set up a plan. Hold her accountable and have her hold you accountable. This could help you both. Tell her to go to a gym and find a buddy to work out with, or take a class. She needs to have an old friend(you) who can sympathize and understand, but maybe a few new pals close to home with a similar issue AND similar goals would help her also. And for goodness sake, send her to the forum!!!! Just knowing you guys are here has been a huge part of getting me started. Good luck, and tell your friend we are rooting for her"

She doesn't need to weigh herself or anything. Just write down everything she consumes, including alcohol. Then review it in a week. She can start from there."
