Christmas Shopping - Have You started?

cvalh said: "Yes, I've started. Essentially finished, too. I'm not buying a LOT this year... too poor. Did it all online, except for a little bit from the gift shop at work (yay employee discount!)"

cvalh said: "Sooo... I REFUSE to put a tree up before December. My parents would never do one before my birthday (December 11)... I'm not that extreme, but to me, it needs to be December."

I'm not buying a whole lot this year either because, well, let's face it: we as a society generally have just TOO MUCH JUNK. So I'll just buy little things for people and enjoy the holidays."

GreenEyes said: "I'm almost done. I shopped online at two places. Dell & Ebay! I have to pick up some wrapping paper and candy for stockings. My husband and I are not buying gifts for each other this year, not enough money. So it's the kids and a few family members. How many people have a tree already? We haven't gotten ours yet. We have tons of decorations to put up. I love this time of year!:) Happy Holidays Everyone!"

Diamond said: "
well we are almost done w/ our x-mas shopping-we pretty much busted it out in one day. out list keeps getting shorter each year, along w/ our budget. we bought a house and had a baby in the same year! i still have to get isabelle a bounce and spin zebra-i hope she loves it!!!
You are soooo lucky! I'll bet your daughter will love it ;)"

After being through a couple "Black Fridays" I find that most of the deals in the store you can find online throughout the year with out the hassle(danger!) of camping out overnight. Also most stores are marked up so high that when they give you "$200 off" the regular price it just becomes competitive with what online e-tailers have been offering with out discounts. I have a couple websites you/others might find interesting for locating good deals online. www.slickdeals.net and www.dealigg.com Both sites list items that are normally at the lowest price that can be found on the web/sometimes in store. If anyone has any links to good places like that let me know. I have saved/been able to stretch money a lot farther via these two sites. =) DrCOOL959"

Throughout the year I always see things on sale or things that I think would be a PERFECT gift for someone so I just started making Christmas shopping a year long event. I'm done with pretty much everyone on my list already except for a FEW people who will be really easy. I swear this will save me the whole headache and loads of cash I'm sure. It works out great for my family too. For example, I found this $70 really really comfy cute sweater on sale for $20 at REI in my aunts size back during the summer and picked it up for her. Then just recently winter gloves at REI went on sale from $30 to $20. So my aunt ended up getting $100 worth of gifts and I only spent $40, I'm loving this!"
