Heather said: "Here are a few more.
A hula hoop. (Great for the abs)
Videos or DVD's. (Try out a few from the library before you buy)
Ankle weights (adds resistance when you walk or jog)"

They are so cute when they're small..
Those big bouncy exercise balls usually cost around 20 bucks and are pretty versatile for a lot of different exercises.
I think the one I have I found
on sale for 15.00 at Wal-Mart."
Elaine said: "Good point. You don't have to buy equipment if your mind is resourceful!
You can walk up and down the steps in your house over and over. Do that for about 20 minutes and see how you feel!"
cvalh said: "when you weigh as much as me, you almost don't need equipment... 220 lbs is awesome for a lot of free arm exercizes you can do. doing things like squats or VERY small extended arm circles for long periods of time can also be amazing for increasing strength. as far as cardio work, just go out and walk or jog... if you have an injury of some sort, exercize equipment can be more helpful, and probably more expensive, but, for example, the recomendation of a hulahoop, if you get good at it, that can be great cardio too (or even if you're bad at it :D )."

All the other suggestions on here are terrific too!"

missmyth said: "I bought an upper-body resistance band for $5 at Target, and it works muscles in my arms, shoulders, and back that have never been worked... ever. Definitely recommended!"
Scarlett said: "These are all such excellent ideas! I really want to buy the resistance band, and the ball...especially the ball! I have a set of five lb weights, but can only find one at the moment, so when I'm sitting down hanging out I will lift that one for a little while or jump up and do some squats.
I have read a lot of articals about the ball and excersizes that can be done on it, I REALLY want one!! So cheap, yet at the moment I can't really afford it!
I'd also like to get a jump rope, and a hullahoop! I recently tried hullahooping at my friends house, and I did terribly! But I could definately see how it could really help you get a good cardio workout!
I also think a stepper thingy (sorry I sound stupid, but I don't know the name of this object) that you use in aerobics wouldn't be too terribly expensive and you could do all kinds of fun workouts on it. Oh and a small trampoline too would probably not be too expensive either!"
jibberjabberin said: "yes exercise can be really inexpensive. for example I pay $54 per month for my gym that I don't go to.
instead, this morning I put on my shoes and took my three puppies for a walk.
in between break at the restaurant when there's no customers I finished three sets of 10 of squats, push-ups, arm curls (with my resistance band) and abs.
after work I might stop of at the grocery store and i'll make sure I park far away and carry a basket, so that my arms can get a workout and so that I won't buy too much.
and that's all for less than $54!"
