I have survived Thanksgiving at my mother's house for the last 6 years or so with minimal damage, which isn't easy to do when my mom makes every dish with a load of butter and cream. But here is my strategy: I fill probably about half of my plate with tossed salad (luckily, my mom always makes a good, healthy salad for Thanksgiving)...I put a little lowfat dressing on it and then I use the rest of my plate for turkey and a SMALL amount of sides. I usually fill about a quarter of the plate with turkey (I always take the skin off and I usually eat white meat) and then I take a very small amount of my absolute favorite sides: mashed potatoes (my mom makes them with mayo and they're AWESOME!) and green bean casserole. If I'm still hungry after that, I take more salad. For dessert, I usually have a cup of decaf coffee with cream and sugar (since I HATE pumpkin pie, the coffee tastes kind of like dessert for me). So that's what I always do...it usually works pretty well."

Tomorrow will be the day... I am so nervous!!! I have been trying SOO hard & I really put everything I have into eating right & excersizing. I don't want to be let down!! I'm also nervous because with Thanksgiving less than 3 weeks away, I don't want to go to dinner and ruin everything I have started. How do I stay away from all those calories? I guess its just portion control....
Any input guys?
Thanks for your support!!"
