Makes you want to carry Germ-X and antibacterial wipes with you wherever you go.."

Overuse of antibacterial stuff is why we have these super infections, unfortunately. Alcohol is better, because it kills the cells in a different way than antibiotics.
In terms of using the antibacterial stuff... Remember how they kill 99.9% of all bacteria? Well, that .1% that survives is the strong and deadly type. So what we do is ensure that the bacteria that survives to reproduce is the bacteria we can do nothing against.
There was a school to the south of Atlanta that shut down briefly 2 weeks ago because of the outbreak of the infection. It is scary, there's no question. This stuff has been around on farms and in hospitals for quite a while, and now it's spreading."

The past few weeks, there has been talk of staph infections that are deadly and cannot be controlled by antibiotics. Would this frighten you? Would you avoid the gyms? I still go but am more cautious. I clean the machines before using them and wash my hands every time after using them. I noticed less people have been working out. But, I notice that some people seem to not care and use machines without cleansing them. I think it's kind of gross that people don't care. What are your thoughts on this?"

Yes, My gym has alchohol bottles all over the place. You can spray down the machine before and after use."

Your right- antibacterial is the reason that we have no resistance to these infections. My dad always used to say using antibacterial will weaken resistance- and he was always against antibiotics. I could see why now."

Diamond said: "Then I'd be sure to use it each time - just in case the guy/gal in front of you doesn't have the courtesy to do so. Never hurts to be cautious."

These super strains of staph are pretty scary, especially if you have kids that are exposed to other kids in small places like classrooms, locker rooms, etc."
