Weight and fatWeight and fat
zozzo said: "Well here's the thing. I'm 22, 5'11 and for the past 10 months or so I've been holding weight of 135 lbs, which I think is ideal for my height. Went on a lovely vacation for Christmas and New Year, had lots of great food and wine without thinking about calories, carbs, fats etc. I came home with about 4 lbs more (thought it was going to be more), but I'm at 135 now again.
However, even though I'm at exactly the same weight I was say a month ago, I have some fat on my hips and belly that wasn't there before. Actually this is no surprise to me as I'm aware that fat isn't as heavy as muscle tissue (since muscle is more consistent than fat), all I'm saying is that weight is quite a relative concept and muscle/fat ratio is more important than a number on the scale. And you can only regulate that with exercise.
Thats it, thanks for your attention :D"

If you work out, you add muscle which weighs more than fat. So your scale is showing a higher weight, but you have more lean muscles mass and weigh more, even though you're not fatter. It confuses people."
