lotusleaf said: "it definately has an effect on you-although i dont go to a gym, i find that if i dont exercise at all i feel crap!! When you exercise, you release serotonin which is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, so when you release this, you feel great, happy and positive, so if your body is used to feeling this- when you dont exercise and are not releasing any, you feel bad, irritable etc. In england, the doctors prescribe exercise instead of anti depressants for mild depression as its natural, works quicker and has no side effects apart from getting fitter, healthier and more happy!!!!"
