Working out with a toddler...

Heather said: "Perhaps you could see if they have any mommy/child swimming classes that you could take together? The water is a great way to get started, especially if you're suffering from injuries. Swimming - water walking - and swim aerobics are a wonderful way to increase flexibility and burn some calories. It would also be a good learning experience for your toddler. Getting them used to the water and teaching them how to swim is a valuable life skill. They might also provide affordable babysitting if you have to "do it on your own." Other activities that could be fun with your little one would be walking with her in a stroller or outfitting your bike with a child carrier. I hope this helps give you some ideas!"

I've also known of some YMCAs offering excercise classes for moms and tots (cardio and resistance)...mom and tot do cardio together and then the tot becomes the mom's resistance! ;) Go up to the Y and ask questions!!!! :D"

You can also put on your kids fraverite music if they have any. Invent your own dance. You could call it the "insert kid name" dance. Good Luck"

BestinTess said: "Well, my running partner has disappeared and my knee is inflamed. Darnit! So I'm reduced to taking walks, but I hate moving that slowly! I also think it might be my very old tennis shoes....so today I'm going to hit the mall in search for something on sale.... Anyway... As part of my life makeover, I want to get my daughter involved with more physical activities with me. I want her to think of them as a fun thing to do, and at her age, getting her involved is not a problem! So I'm thinking about checking out our local YMCA to see what kind of programs they have. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions as what to do with a 3.5 year old girl?"
