Storm wreaks havoc on surrounding areas

cvalh said: "Us too, in Georgia, Mariposa. The air quality is so bad with the wildfires, and everything is dead with no rain."

UniqueMystique said: "This damage was caused by reported winds of 93 mph! This is just a few pics of the damage but there's been a lot more than what I'm posting. Tree limbs lying everywhere are causing problems for people.....in high lines, roof tops, roads, etc. Power has been out at the major airport in this area as well. Ok....some of the pics were too big to load...I'll try and resize them tomorrow."

UniqueMystique said: "Here are some more pics.... I haven't heard of any injuries from the storm.... These pictures are of a church that a 300 ft tower blew over on....."

lakelady said: "Yep, springtime in tornado alley. Ain't it great!? Was anyone hurt Unique? Oddly, we haven't had any really high winds, nor a single tornado warning this year yet. It's kind of spooky, like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Last year we had a tornado just blow away a small town 12 miles from here. (Hallam Nebraska) and by 'blow away', I mean gone, nothing left there except the streets, the basements, and a couple of piles of bricks. Thanks to today's weather technology for early warnings, NO ONE WAS HURT!, not even a pet! Can you imagine what it must have been like back in our grandparent's day (well, MY grands anyway) to just have these monster winds drop in on you with no warning?? I see you're having flooding in Texas too! Your poor state is really having all the luck this year, huh? Maybe that's why Texans are so tough and resourcefull!"
