Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

I eat organic fiber cereal which helps. Sometimes though, I do get an attack- I could be shopping, at work- wherever and I have to RUNNNNN for the bathroom. It sucks to have this and I don't take any medication for it... I just watch what I eat and ensure I eat fiber, veggies, fruits and all the good stuff."

Anti-gas medication, Zelnorm, and Levisnex. None work great. I take only the Levisnex with severe pain. I do have a cookbook it is written by Heather something that starts with a V. She has a website, if you type in help for IBS in the search box you should be able to find it on the web. If not I will get the web address for you and post it here. I too have learned there are certain things that trigger my problems and then there are times no matter what I eat I have problems, it is related to stress and hormones as well so any thing can trigger an attack. I cannot eat dairy foods, I do have problems with some beans, lettuce, and some fruits and vegetables mostly ones with seeds. You will learn if you get the cookbook all the things you should eat some of those you mentioned. You would be surprised though to find that a lot of fruits and vegetables cause problems as well, you just have to see which ones you can't tolerate. The book was very helpful and has lots of recipes of safe foods. I hope you find something to help as I have had IBS for the most part of 15 years or more. Find what works for you and I hope it is soon."

So I went to the doctors he said "you had problem before with a lot of Constipation, Abdominal pain." I did not remember this, but he has them all in my notes on the computer. He said There is no known cause of IBS. However told me there are some possible trigger which may worsen my Irritable Bowel:
Contractions may be stronger after a large meal or a meal containing a large amount of saturated fat.
Other common food culprits include wheat, rye, barley, chocolate, milk products, alcohol and drinks with caffeine, such as coffee, tea, or colas. Also gas-producing foods including beans and certain vegetables like broccoli or cabbage.
Stress, conflict, or emotional upsets
Female hormones
Certain medication
Medication such as iron tablets, painkillers, antibiotics and antacids can also affect the function of the bowel and produce symptoms such as constipation and diarrhoea.
So what i am asking is there any weight loss recipes for IBS sufferers.
Does any one know of anything may help me."

I prefer the whole over the broken linseed. The oil in them coats your insides, apparently. I haven't had an attack in over a year!
Linseed can also be added to oatmeal for a super lunch."
