I go to the gym the 6 days a week and I workout 30 minutes , 1 hour tops.I read all labels and ask if I can't see what the calories are. I vary everything and that has also helped. Changing times of day I excercise as well. I have stopped eating anything past 6:30pm and I don't snack while sitting watching television. I have been meditating and relaxing to ease the food cravings. No matter what, I won't indulge in cake, ice cream or cookies when it is offered. I say no thanks.I also walk my dog at night at 8pm every night."

Cupcake said: "I'm sure its not 100% accurate, but there are trackers online that you enter in how much of an ingredient is in something, and it will tell you the cals, grams of fat, carbs, etc. The one I use has every food imaginable in it, so when I eat something, like a cup of cottage cheese, I just make sure I enter it into the computer, and it counts for me. Like I said, I'm sure its not 100% accurate, but its pretty close. I've compared the computers stats of a food to the package, and they were the same for the most part. It just helps me keep track, but different things work for different people."

Cupcake said: "Theres a lot of websites that have them, but the one I find the best is www.kraftfoods.com/5 and then click on Interactive Food Diary. Theres a lot of other things on the site, like meal planners and exercise logs."

That basically means looking at every piece of food you eat! Plus when you make like a casserole or something like that, you have to figure out all the ingredients, etc. I find it hard to estimate the exact amounts I eat, too. I just don't see how you could accurately do it?"

It's not that hard...Some things I feel like I am getting the wrong #s, but most seem pretty accurate. I liked the fact that you can customize it, so you can add the exact amounts off the packages of the food you eat regularily. That makes it quite a bit more accurate. I think i'm gonna spend a few minutes and enter the most common. Anyways, Thanks Guys!"

I started out by cutting Calories, then I plateaued at about 145, so I started to add physical activity and lost the last 25 lbs in like 2-3 months. Then, about 3 months ago, I started to add strength training (doctor's orders...both my grandmas have osteoporosis and I didn't want to get it either) and noticed that my weight dropped about 4 lbs or so but my clothes fit better and I have a lot more definition. Oh yeah, another good tracker is www.fitday.com. I like it because it's kind of set up like a bank account sort of...Calories in (food) and Calories out (exercise) so you know if you have a net Calorie "gain" or "loss" any given day."

nattie said: "I think that is what everyone on here is doing. Just start a low cal diet and exercise. I personally try to stay between 1200 and 1500 a day and work out. You just have to eat healthy and watch your portions. Oh and drink lots of water."

nattie said: "I do the same thing Cupcake. For someone at my weight they actually say I should eat 2000 but I try to stay under 1500 everyday. The thing is once you start counting your cals and do it with as much accuracy as possible for a couple of weeks it gets to where you know what you can eat and what you can't and about how many cals you have eaten without keeping track of them. My hardest days are Sat and Sun cause I am not a puter that much, but now I know what I can eat and what I can't to stay within my cals."

Qian said: "How short of a time are we talking here? Alot of people will lose weight very fast in the first 2 or 3 weeks of their diet then it will level out to about 1-2 lbs a week. The weight that people usually lose first is water weight too. I excercise 5x's a week and eat low cal (1200-1500 cal per day). This has worked the best for me."
