Albin0 said: "Okay, so, if you read my signature, you will see I've lost 20lbs!! I lost 5lbs, since the last time I was here.. I've lost all this weight by changing my eating habits and that's it.. So now it's time to pick things up.. Starting tonight, I'm going to go for a walk for a least a half hour.. And maybe in the morning go for a jog.. :) I'm so proud of myself! I think I might also start some "light" weight training when I get home from work!! :D How much of a change do you all think the added exercise will give me?"

shrkntz said: "The changes sometimes are not immediate and you might gain muscle as you workout with heavier weight resistance. I started to bike more and use my wrist and ankle weights 3 months before I started my weights. Take it easy and at a good pace, give yourself one day of rest as well so your body can recoup. I am glad you have lost 5 pounds, way to go. A brisk walk with some ankle weights is a great way to get in some cardiovascular and weight training intermixed. I like using www.fitday.com to keep track. It is such a good site. thanks to cvah for mentioning it.:)"

Albin0 said: "Thanks everyone! :) I've weight trained before, but I've never done cardio AND weight training.. Once my ankle heals up, I'm going to start walking either in the morning or at night.. When you've lifted weights, and your muscles get bigger, and then you gain fat, the muscle is still there, but it's just under fat, right?"

Heather said: "Nice job! Adding more challenges to your routine will challenge your body as well. If you are going to lift weights, start slow and then build up. Resistance bands or hand held weights might be a good idea to start with."

Holly said: "I bet you'll notice a big change. Exercise will boost your metabolism. The only thing to remember, as has been said on this forum before, is you may gain some muscle mass from toning. It is a good thing to keep in mind when weighing yourself. Long term, however, that muscle mass will cause you to burn more calories. It can be frustrating (I'm a bit frustrated with my current rountine). But, congratulations to you!!!!!! :D :D You should be proud of yourself!"
