hurting feet

Diamond said: "I hope that your feet get to feeling better. A visit to a foot doctor sounds like it could be in order. He might decide to fit you with arch supports which helped me a lot a few years back. They were fit to my feet and made a lot of pain go away. Be sure to keep us posted!"

lakelady said: "OK echo, I'd never heard of your particular problem before, so I typed in 'sore feet in morning' in my search engine and about 20 sites popped up! Whatever else, you are not alone!!!! Here are two quotes from two of those sites. They seem to reflect the two most common causes; "I had a similar experience in my late 20s. In my case (hopefully not yours) it was the most dominant sign of an autoimmune disorder--lupus. Back then, my doctor told me that bilateral pain (same place on both sides of the body) concentrated in the small bones (hand and feet) was often a sign of some sort of autoimmune process. Mine also felt better once I had a chance to move around a little. I had the whole gamut of tests and discovered that I did, indeed, have lupus. If this problem has gone on for more than a few days, I would go to the doctor and get it checked out." (this sounds the most like you, Echo) "The plantar fascia is a band of muscle that runs from the ball of the foot to the heel and depending on you shoes, you walking style, if you have a tendency for foot cramping, etc. etc. can become sore when it relaxes overnight while you're sleeping, giving you sore feet in the am when you stand up. I had this for a while when I first started wearing Birkenstocks, as they have a high arch that my own arch had to get used to. There are plenty stretches you can do to get your feet going in the morning--just look up plantar fascia on the web..." Hope this helps some."

Wingnutz said: "Ouch! I've had the swollen arches happen to me before in the mornings. Very painful and it feels really strange to walk. I find that it happens usually following a day where I was on my feet a lot and wearing either my slippers, I was barefoot or in some type of shoe that has no support whatsoever. It really gets to me after the weekend, because I tend to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing meals and making stuff for lunches the following week so I am some days on my feet nearly all day. I read that Quarks shoes are suppose to help. I ordered a pair of Quark Podiums, they are rubber clogs. I read some reviews where both surgeons and nurses wear them on 16 hours shifts and they give them high marks. They claim it helps with foot fatigue, lower back pains, knee pains, and foot pains such as the arch, heels and balls of the feet. I ordered a pair that just arrived today so I will try them out this weekend and tell ya what I think."

Wingnutz said: "Yes, they are the same as the Croc shoes, looks wise. I'm not sure about all the styles though each claims to have "revolutionary" insoles, or something else. Maybe one is better than the other but I am not sure."
