gizmonel said: "so what your telling me is i don't get it YMCA is like $25 a month, the thing will i go? i prefer to do stuff at my privacy at home, of course i can make room for my health, are you nuts. I AM SO MOTIVATED RIGHT NOW AND HAVE THIS AWESOME WILLPOWER THAT I THINK WILL LAST FOREVER. so i think that my equipment will not be dust collectors LOL i might go for the total gym. does anyone use it?"

sky said: "The total home gym from wal-mart? If you are truly wanting to strength train, pay alittle extra and get a bowflex. Why, because its not something you want to do alone it can be dangerous. Once you get it all in your house it consumes alot of space, and I personally think that teyre made cheap. Dont jump into anything you need to be somewhat fit before you consider tearing up you body."

Yum said: "I would get a bowflex too. After all, you could get a bowflex body. :D But anyway, if you wanna get really muscely, yeah go ahead and get one."

gizmonel said: "Hello everyone unfortunantly i could not get it, cause my doctor said not to do any strength training yet. but i have increased my bike sessions to 20 minutes each"

Henrietta said: "Don't be afraid to join gyms either. Gyms are not places for hard-bodies these days. They're a place where heavy people go to workout."

Heather said: "You'll have to decide if your budget and home floor plan can support it :) My mom bought a treadmill that sits as a dust collector in her family room. As far as your exercise goes, do what you can comfortably. If there is a YMCA or other affordable gym, you might want to check out what the monthly fees are. They often have numerous programs that could interest you, and keep you from "getting bored" with your routine. Some even have personal trainers in case you are not comfortable doing weights by yourself. The one I used to go to had an indoor pool (water exercise or swimming) Exercise classes (step and circuit training) a weight room, an exercise equipment room, and a walking track. It was nice because you never got bored."

Heather said: "I was not trying to discourage you. You have make your own decision based on how you will workout the best. If you prefer to work out at home, GO FOR IT! Some people prefer to have some flexibility to change their routine if they want to, others prefer to have a "group" to work out with to keep motivated. I used to have a weight bench that WAS a peice of equipment until I stopped using it and the cats turned it into a scratching post. I ended up throwing it out. You will have to make the call on what is right for you, and again, I'm not trying to discourage you, it is just something to think about before you spend a lot of money.."

Heather said: "Nice job on increasing your exercise time. :) Keep up the good work. Before you know it your doctors will give you the go ahead for strength training. Then you'll be able to knock em outta the park!"

Elaine said: "Gizmonel, Did you decide to get the total gym?"

helplesscase said: "I've never used one. But sure, it probally wouldn't hurt to try it."
