The outdoors is the best place to be in the summer. I'm not crazy about being outdoors in the winter, though."

xlilphishx said: "My fave is going to the track and enjoying the scenery as I walk/run. I also wnjoy rollerblading along the water on the south shore here. It's beautiful. Also, the Hamptons is a big hangout for me in the summer and it's so nice to run along the water."
shy_doll said: "I loooooove the outdoors....when it's nice and warm out there anyways. We go hiking alot and have a picnic lunch. We also boat and do alot of fishing (me anyways, my husband doesn't care for it as much). I also love biking with the kids, walking, and tossing the frisbee and football. My favorite is camping!! I love the peace I get in the woods. Being out there with nature is like nothing else. Kinda gives me this "free" feeling...I just love it. And I don't have to listen to the darn t.v. on all the time or the phone ringing. Wow, now I'm so excited for summer to get here thinking about it. I can smell the firewood burning......"
naynay said: "lol..i used to make little "camp" fires in my back yard when i was little"
klynnfosh said: "I love spring and fall for outdoor activities. Picnics, family get togethers, gardening, yard work, I enjoy them all. I am not much of a summer person when it is near 100 everyday and the humidity is so high. I am planning on some yard work this week after work. Spring time is the best, hope everyones gets out and soaks up some of the sun and enjoys it doing whatever you love outdoors!!"
Matt_9 said: "Rollerblading on a bike trail. Or riding along the back roads on a bicycle.
Hmmm, I enjoy doing both of these but never thought about which would burn more calories. Rollerblading or riding a bike?
I also like to drive along the backroads of my city with the windows down in my car listening to some great music. On my way to the beach! I love the beach in the summertime. Cookouts. Camping. I just love summer."

I like to walk in park."
help6363 said: "I love getting all rugged up on a cold winter's day and walking around the river or at the park."
lakelady said: "Well, riding is number one, but I do that every day so it's kind of commonplace for me, sometimes it's a chore, so...I'd have to say scuba diving. I only get any good diving in about two weeks out of a year, so it's a real treat!"
lakelady said: "
Iddly enough I also enjoy doing some labor intensive yardwork or construction once in awhile. Throw on a pair of shorts and shoes and get out there and sweat under the sun while improving our home. I get tan, muscles AND a new deck (or whatever..)
:
What's odd about that? My girls and I built a two story wrap around deck with a surround for the hottub, with the occasional help from the teen. I loved every minute of it and I STILL show people the deck and brag how we did it ourselves. They have to hear about the 4,953 screws used in construction, how many saw blades we wore out....
_ anyway dad, have you built the obligatory tree house yet? Thats a load of fun. Teen has a cow skull he found when he was 8 nailed up on the door of the kids tree-house, very attractive."
lakelady said: "I can't top fscotts propane bomb, but when my brothers and I were young, my dad and his brothers owned a small tool manufacturing plant. We used to steal my older cousin's condoms, go down to the 'tool room' set the acetylene welder to the 'pop' mixture and fill the condoms with it. Then we'd light a cigarette or a punk, secure it under the edge of the condom and wait for it to burn down. We once blew a three foot crater in my mom's flower bed. I thought that was the end of it for us, but two years later my then 13 year old brother and a couple of his friends blew all the windows out of the tool room, burst their eardrums, and pulverized the furnace bricks they were using to hold the condom in place into dust!
I come from a long line of pyros, and I married one. Dan and the guy across the lake have gotten into some 4th of july pissing contest over the years. They literally spend thousands of dollars on fireworks every year. It's gotten so bad that people come to the public commons to watch those two shoot off fireworks instead of going to the city display. Sticks of dynamite are involved. Somebody calls the cops every year, it's like a tradition. These are GROWN men now, NOT their teen sons!"
DrCOOL959 said: "I'm with cvalh, lakelady, jason and the rest. Only a slight twist. I love demolition! Oh and so much more fun outdoors than in!
You guys built a deck? psch I demolished a deck, with a crowbar.......sweet sweet stress relief! Then jackhammered the concrete footing with a Hilti TE 805 breaker! hooo hoo ho.. Man that was sweet.
That was until.......I had to pour concrete in its place.....sand, rock, wire mesh, dubbies, concrete mixing uggh!....terrible frick'in job!"

I use to be such a little pyro when I was young. Got grounded for burning stuff in the house then blaming it on my mom (she just happened to burn popcorn that night).
Also got caught burning crap outside pine needles and newspappers (real stupid looking back on it lol). ALMOST set a neighbors house on fire. When me and some friends lit a fire and it blew over to a bunch of dead grass! We were trying to kick that fire out like crazy. My friends where friggin stomping on my feet because they were freakin out! Wound up having to meet with the fire cheif and him threatening to fine me $1,000 dollars next time he hears about me.
I still like burning things but luckily my brain has evolved from what it used to be at 12years old or so. I don't burn things to cause destruction mostly it is to dispose of hazzardous materials now a days. ie) Bad gasoline."
DrCOOL959 said: "
Same here. Lit the back yard on fire once. Oops.
Now I'm older and much more mature and no longer do that. I do more intelligent things like setting a bottle of camp stove propane next to two tiki torches and then standing back 200 feet before blowing a hole in the propane can with a WWII rifle.
I think I've matured.

lol! with maturity, comes sophistication!"

You know the sad thing is my step-dad taught me and my brother at a young age how to light matches.
We.... like cave men, looked in awe!"

my second favorite outdoor activity is walking down the boardwalk. Our boardwalk in town is two miles long and I love walking with BF, talking, making fun of people, joking around, chasing each other... just having fun together. *sigh* I cant wait for nice weather"

A new found favorite is playing with my 2yo on the toddlers playground while all the women laugh at me. Me going down the slides seems to be a favorite at the local toddler park :whacky011:"

fred said: "I have two favorites. The first is my garden. It's first on the list because in the last week I've spent a huge amount of time out there doing the spring planting. It's very relaxing to pull a few weeds or add some more plants, especially after a stressful day.
My other favorite which I haven't done enough of lately, is riding a motorcycle. Lately I spend more time working on mine than riding them. But I do love running down a twisty road at high speed. Wheee!

Lindskd said: "Goofing around. I like going to our park and climbing the large rocks around the river. It's fun not to have to take the path! There's a bridge over the river and you can climb up and get right underneath it (or walk around and get to the underneath from the other side, but climbing is more fun). Mind you, it makes quite a sound when a semi or heavy vehicle passes over."
