eat everything on your plate

pixiechic said: "i think everyone is conditioned to eat everything on their plate. its something we learn as kids. i think that teaching kids to eat until they are full and not offering dessert as a reward would be a better way to teach a child to eat healthy. i have watched that show nanny 911 and was amazed at how bad some of these parents feed their kids. it's no surprise they behave as badly as they do. one family had a cupboard filled with sugar foods, and they helped themselves whenever they wanted."

I have instilled into my children that you put small amounts on your plate and to eat untill your stomach is satisfied. It also has taught them to good habbits on portion control as well as not wasting food. I have a really hard time with not wanting to stop with my small portions and not getting more. For some reason I feel like I am not done eating or I am being cheated if I don't leave the table stuffed. Keep up the good work."

spunkymonkey said: "i know its sad that there are parents that use food as a reward for their children."
