Donuts with Caffiene.. What a kick ass way st start your day..

Heather said: "How do you make your morning donut even worse? add the equivalant of 2 cups of coffee's caffeine to it. This should make life in the office more interesting, if nothing else.. Everyone is going to be ready to go!"

Heather said: "I'm not sure if anyone here would remember, but it reminds of that stuff called "Jolt" cola.. perhaps the worst cola ever invented.."

Heather said: "Crackheads sounds like a great product to market.. I heard of another new "energy" drink called Cocaine. I like how the inventor says:
"It's an energy drink, and it's a fun name," says Kirby. "As soon as people look at the can, they smile."
It contains 280 mg of caffiene in a 8.4 ounce serving. Sounds like a heart attack in a can to me.. and promoting the name "Cocaine" (aka as an illicit and highly addictive drug) seems like bad business.."

cvalh said: "If this were to become commonplace, I'd have to stop eating donuts. Well, I don't really eat them anyway, but, you get the point :th_coolio:"

cvalh said: "Jolt, or Surge. Both were crazy. They got banned in my middle school and church youth group."

UniqueMystique said: "I remember the sodas! I don't think I'd buy the doughnuts either. I rarely buy doughnuts anyways....just another reason to stay away from them. We may all have to go back to growing our own food if they keep adding stuff to our foods. Our luck though...they'd start infusing the seeds with something to make them unhealthy once the food was grown!"

spectrachic311 said: "Ugh, gross. It's amazing what sorts of stuff they put in food now to make it "functional". Green tea extract in soda, calcium in whatever they can put it in, now caffeine in donuts. This ought to be interesting. What next? I'm waiting for our company to start marketing something like onion rings with calcium in them or something else so people think they're healthy."

spectrachic311 said: "The whole point is for food manufacturers to increase sales of what most of us would call "unhealthy" foods. If a company can add a nutrient to a food that makes it seem "healthy" (or at least healthier than what's out there), people will buy it. It's a dirty rotten trick and the food companies don't care at all about the consumers; they just want to make a buck. So far, our company hasn't started doing that, but I'm sure they will start at some point. Actually, our company is trying to do it the RIGHT way...we're eliminating trans fat in everything we make and we're coming out with some new lines of foods like fire roasted veggies and stuff that actually IS better for you. I just hope the donuts with caffeine don't suck too many people in. Oh, and yeah, I totally remember Surge and Jolt cola. Surge was banned from our school functions and from our church youth group too...wonder why? So all the kids wouldn't be so hyper?"

DBrew said: "All I can say is;Why??? Firstly, donuts with coffee is a great combo not to be messed with. Secondly, that just sounds like it would make the consumer literally ill. You would get the highs and lows of sugar, along with caffiene jitters. If a person was drinking coffee with these doughnuts that would be really bad!"

DBrew said: "A couple of things;I love coffee, but I do not like the taste of the beans. The word cocaine has never made me smile, call me crazy! I have always been actually afraid to drink those energy drinks. They always seemed dangerous to me. I guess they were!"

LEBZTA said: "That is disgusting. I had never really thought of it as a marketing ploy but you're absolutely right, Spectra. People see the word "Calcium" and they think it's healthy, no matter what. What kills me is when there is a big bag of chips and it boasts "NO TRANS FATS"!! Ok, yes, no trans fats, but plenty of other artery clogging nonsense! Ugh. So nasty."

Which I find amusing because soon it will be coffee grounds, a little bit of cinnamon a razor blade and a straw lol!
Oh, chocolate coated coffee beans are nothing new. We ate them by the bagful in college, the coffee place at the mall sold them. Finals week saw a BIG rush on them. College for me was (gulp) THIRTY YEARS AGO!"

**Shorti** said: "capitalism at its best....*sigh* honestly this article made me sad. Just think about all the consumers who are going to permantently damage their systems. I personally also HATE Red Bulls, Full Throttle, Rockstars and all those other energy drinks out there. Its SO UN-NATURAL! EW! Plus I heard wehn Redbull came out one 18 year old died from a heart attack, from drinking too many in a short period of time... ummmm HELLO? can we say re-call? When I was in college during finals time a "Red-Bull Energy Crew" would come around the library and hand out free red bulls to students. I refused every time. They looked at me like I was insane...then I told them about the 18 year old that died and theiy faces went blank, they didnt know what to say. I told them they should think twice about representing such a dangerous product and "pushing" it on students like drug dealers. ha-ha"
