Awful Happenings....

UniqueMystique said: "There have been some odd happenings in this part of west Texas in the last two weeks. There are three homicide investigations going on in the area....they say that these incidents are non-related.....but I'm having a hard time believing this. One incident happened between two larger towns west of here (100,000+ people)....one town is about 45 minutes away and the other is about an hour away. The 2nd incident happened at the town an hour away. The first victim was found face down in a natural drainage area between the two towns. A female in her 20's. No evidence of physical harm. The 2nd victim was found face down in a city drainage system. A male in his 20's. No information on physical trauma yet. Now here's the part that's really bothering me. The 3rd victim was found here (-1000 people). He was found face down in a highway drainage viaduct. He was in his 20's. Physical trauma reported as gruesome. The latter one bothers me most because it happened not too far from my daughter's school. I see a pattern at work here but the officials don't. Am I crazy?"

UniqueMystique said: "Yes ma'am! A major interstate highway....the bodies have been found many miles away from this highway though. The first was found in an extremely rural area...oilfield workers found her. The 2nd was found in a heavily populated neighborhood. A couple out for a walk found him. I'm presuming that there was trauma on the victim because the drainage ditch was very steep. The 3rd was found in a populated (not heavily) area beside a busy farm to market highway. A person driving by spotted the victim. There are two small towns between this town and the other two towns involved. I hope and pray that they don't find any victims in those two towns. I do know that the 1st victim was reported as a missing person a few weeks ago. They believe that the 2nd victim may also be a person that was reported missing a few weeks ago (no positive ID yet). There's been no word on the 3rd victim yet. It all just seems so rash and connected to me. Yes...the scenes don't match up exactly to each other but who's to say that the perpetrator hasn't gotten more violent with each scene? I've lived here for almost 15 years and I've never heard of a murder in this town. Gives you a sick feeling...ya know?"

UniqueMystique said: "missred....yes...I'm near Lubbock but I'm actually closer to the Midland/Odessa area. M/O is where the other two incidents took place. M/O have there share of murders each year....drive by's and drug related killings. We've never had any of that here that I know of."

UniqueMystique said: "I've been out of town since Friday....gymnastics stuff. The 2nd victim was a missing person...that's all that I know. The one here has not been identified yet but evidence shows that the man was severely beaten and was killed by blunt force trauma. I found out Friday afternoon that a teenager that we all know found the victim. She did not recognize the man to be from around here. I sure hope that they figure things out soon. I've not heard of any more instances but the weather has been horrible in these parts."

UniqueMystique said: "(Radio Transcript) THE ****** COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT IN A THURSDAY EVENING MEDIA RELEASE SAY THEY HAVE NOW POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED THE BODY OF A MALE BODY FOUND NORTH OF ******* JANUARY 11. HE IS 20 YEAR OLD ROLAND DAVID *********, WHO RECENTLY MOVED TO THE *** ****** AREA TO WORK IN THE OIL FIELD. A SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN HIS MURDER CASE. HE IS 50 YEAR OLD JOHN MICHAEL ****. **** TOLD INVESTIGATORS HE KILLED THE VICTIM BECAUSE HE HAD MADE INSULTING REMARKS ABOUT THE SUSPECT’S FAMILY. MR. **** WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER. They do not believe that this murder is related to the other two homicide investigations that I mentioned earlier. The victim in this case, however, has been missing since December 29th. He failed to pick up his paycheck on the 29th. He was found January 11th and was reported to have been in the deceased for about 4 days when found. My question is....where was he from December 29th to January 7th????"

LEBZTA said: "That is very frightening...almost not REAL. It sounds like something you would see on CSI or something, and not something in real life. I definitely see a pattern. Surely they would investigate thoroughly because there have already been THREE victims that have been found in such similar ways. I don't blame you for being concerned. People are crazy these days."

klynnfosh said: "It is really scarry when this type of crime hits and does leave a pattern of a serial killer. It is such a shame that this sense less type of crime goes on. Keep your doors locked and don't stop for anyone on the road, better safe than sorry!"

missred said: "Wow, that is scary. I think I have asked before, but where in West Texas are you? Near Lubbock? My family lives in the Panhandle, and I live in the Northern Texas area (west of DFW) now. In our closest city there is a murder probably once a month (usually related to drive-bys), but we are lucky to not have more or worse."
