I had on a tank top and shorts and this kind of pudgy guy walked in and picked up a thing of protein stuff and some other stuff. He was talking to the guy that worked there and asked him which supplement was best for getting all buff. The guy working there started talking and then the guy saw me and came up to me and said "Hey, what are you doing?" I said "uh, buying calcium and multivitamins" and he said "No, I mean...you are so buff and cut! What kind of workout do you do? Which supplements do you take?" I said "I'm a distance runner and the only supplements I take are a healthy diet, a multivitamin, and a calcium supplement." He looked so stunned. "You mean I don't need this whey crap?" and I said "Probably not, if you're eating protein in your diet, extra protein will just be excreted." The guy put the powders down and said "I'm going running...maybe that will actually give me results". He walked out and I went to check out. The clerk (who was the guy that was talking to the pudgy guy about supplements) kind of glared at me and said "I could have sold him that protein if you hadn't opened your mouth". I said "Well, it's not my fault that I'm in good shape without the aid of a bunch of overpriced nutrition crap". I walked out of there and laughed at how angry that clerk was. I felt pretty awesome about how I looked right about then. :th_dblthumb2:"

BUT, the greatest moment was when I saw a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a year or so. The look on his face was pure astonishment! He said Lauren, you look SO AMAZING. It makes you feel so confident when you hear it from others! :th_dblthumb2:"

That basic choices I could make were responsible for the change in my body. It's a very good feeling to know you're in control of something that feels like it's pushed you around for years! It was such a positive reinforcement, it really fuelled my efforts through the rest of my path to fitness.

One day I hope that I belong in this section. I have always wanted to ask successful slimmers this question but I have never had the courage..... The question: 'During your weight loss journey, what was your favourite moment? Why?'
Thanks - have a great day!
Cheers

I stood up and turned around and said "do your mothers know you talk like that?" Still, what an ego trip. Why? I think that's pretty self-explanatory!:th_coolio:"
