Hey Everyone..long time!!Hey Everyone..long time!!
spectrachic311 said: "Hi Doc! I remember you...you're the Chinese buffet guy :) Wow, kiddo...down to 130 lbs? And you're a 6'1" guy? Waaay toooooo skinny!! That's like, concentration camp skinny. I'm glad you've decided to get help though. Try not to be too angry at your parents...they love you very much if they are trying to get help for you. Throwing up your food is a very unhealthy thing to do for many reasons. It could cause you to have a heart attack, for one. Your digestive system is designed to be a one way street. Vomiting is your body's safety defense against germs and toxins in your system. It throws your nervous system off when you vomit on purpose, causing the nerves that control your heart to malfunction....that could give you a heart attack and land you in the hospital. Please try to get healthy! You're only around on this planet once...life's too short to worry about being the skinniest you can be."

Just remember to think happy healthy thoughts and that you are very much loved by everyone in your life. You have so much to live a healthy life for.
I am sending many happy Blessings your way!"
docbrown said: "
Doc, don't worry too much about getting mad at your parents. We pretty much expect it. We don't like it, but we do expect it. You kids lose most of your brain cells around the age of thirteen (especially the girls) and don't grow them back til around 18 for the girls and around 23 for the boys. The reason I said I had three kids who were once 21 is that my oldest son is 29, my next two daughters are 27 and 25 and my 'dividend' baby is 14. He's just beginning to think I'm stupid. The rest all think I'm smart again. The funny thing is, I told him this was going to happen and he said, "I'll never act like that!" NOW he doesn't recognize it.
Aww, I'm sorry..Your so nice I'm sorry to hear that. I bet your kids really appreciate you. I really appreciate all your help, thank you all."

Good Luck!
You are so right, I feel terrible about it. my parents are like my best friends, we do everything together, they have always been there for me, so I keep thanking them and telling them I love them, so you have 3 kids, god bless you. thats a wonderful thing, but yes I feel so bad I got mad at them, they saved my life. it's true, it's amazing you how it's almost the same as me?..thats really cool :)"

I thought of that as well, life is too short to worry about it, yes, I still love the Chinese buffet..lol :D as a matter of fact, speaking of nervous system, when I was throwing up my food all the time, I was very jumpy and always freezing like tempature cold, I would shiver and shake like a leaf. but when I collapes for a split second, it was so scary."
docbrown said: "Thank you very much, such kind words. yes at first I got mad at my parents, but them realized that they were only trying to help. but thank you so much I can't believe that I got out of this problem without treatment, at was hard at first cause I have been binging and purging for a few months, so I was amazed that I just stopped."
docbrown said: "Yep, it's me Docbrown, how have you all been. It's been since forever, I have been down a scary and horrible road. I went down to 130 Lbs from 165 Lbs and I was throwing up all my food just so I could stay thin, so my parents started seeing me look like the walking dead, I have dard circles around my eyes and everyday my weight got lower and lower, then I was starting to get dizzy spells worse and one night I collapsed on the floor and hurt my face, so my parents sat and talked to me and said that they are going to have to seek medical help if I don't do something about this now. and everytime they asked me if I throw up my food, I would say no and hide it. so last Sunday, I admitted it..actually I admitted everything! and stopped throwing my food, so last night and the night before, I ate a lot of food and now my stomach is still full and I feel bloated, I look disgusting in my book and the last thing I weighed was 130, now the scale says 148 how the heck in on day did I gain 16 lbs!? my dad said it's food and water weight, but who knows. and my parents said I need to gain some more, cause for my height that is 6"1 they want me back to 165 to 170 my parents have been fighting with with this for months, it was unfair to my family cause I almost died, I was wrong in what I did, also I don't know whay it took it to this level, I just wanted to look good but who am I trying to impress?..really! also I did it cause I wanted to eat all this good food and be able to always eat it, but it came back to bite me, so now on on the road to recovery, I did it myself without seek medical help, my parents where there to help me, so they want me to gain and eat and enjoy then I can go back to dieting mild, but it was very bad, people I know where ever starting to get scared when they saw me, so thats it and I am really glad to talk to you all again."
docbrown said: "
Wow! I'm new here too, so I don't know about the 'chinese buffet' except that my 14 year old is addicted to them! I DO know about the freezing thing though. I did kind of what you did, though not to this extreme. 7 years ago I lost 100 pounds, it took me 7 months to reach my goal weight of 120. (I'm 5'8"), but I was so used to eating very low cal by then and so addicted to the praise, that I went 10 lbs beyond that. Suddenly I was cold ALL the time, shivering, wearing 3 pairs of socks around the house like I was going ice-skating or something! Also, my bony butt hurt all the time and I couldn't sit on a hard chair or ride without it hurting! I could wear my, then 7-year-olds jeans for capri pants. I thought that was really cool! Then my kids did an intervention, said they were concerned about my health, had a bunch of candid pictures they'd taken of me. I looked bony! My arms especially scared me, also my calves! So I slowly gained back that 10 and I immediately stopped being cold all the time. I think we're meant to have SOME fat for a layer of protection, and help to maintain our body temp. At 6'1", and 161 lbs you're still very slender. My oldest son is 6'2", 185lbs. and STILL wears a 34 inch waist jean. It's easy to be so proud of yourself for losing so much weight that you take it too far. use your obsession with your body on a different path. Eat some protein and take yourself to the gym, work up some muscle density! And remember, muscle is way more dense than fat, so you'll weigh more but not have added inches! I have two friends. They're both 5'4", they both weigh 155 lbs. One works out 90 minutes daily, the other is a couch potato. The work-out friend wears size 6 jeans, I know 'cause she borrows them from me and I see her in them. I don't know the size of the other one, but she LOOKS overweight and flabby. My point is, don't take your body image from what the scale says! I'm kinda with the people in featherish who say they've thrown out their scales and go more by the size of the clothes they wear. It really IS a better indicator. Stay healthy, you obviously don't lack willpower, use it toward tuning up your body instead of hurting it! :)
Thank you very much
lakelady. I know exactly what you mean, my tailbone hurt all the time too and my spine. and my rib cage would hurt if I lean over. it was very scary, also my arms, I lost a lot of muscle mass, but I am getting it back slowly my dad told me that as well, go by your clothes, if they still fit you normal, you didn't put on any weight. I barely go on the scale anymore I used to go on it all the time and it ate up my life. but I put on some more weight, now I'm 151, from 130 and I can go outside at night and not shake, it's nice. but I am glad you overcame the same problem as well congratulations to you."
klynnfosh said: "Yes it has been a long time since you were around. I am so proud of you for admitting you have a problem and addressing that problem. I have recently gone through an addiction with my son who is about your age, he is 22 and his addiction was drugs. He went through treatment is is doing good at this time. I want to encourage you to seek help if you find yourself regressing. It can be hard to overcome an obsession on your own. You are really too thin, and the thing that concerns me is the fact you want to get to a healthy weight and go back to dieting. You do not need to diet any longer, you need to find a healthy balanced way to eat the rest of your life. You need to gain the pounds the right way by eating. Then when you get to where you should be you just need to eat healthy foods but enough to maintain that weight. You are lucky to have supportive parents and be thankful for them, they only care about you and your health. Please let them help you and move on with your life. Life is for you to enjoy and you can't do that if you are not healthy! I wish you the best in your journey back to a healthy weight."
klynnfosh said: "Remember Doc, anything worth doing is hard work. You can do this, just ask for help when you need it and remember you have two great friends on your side your parents, they are your biggest fan and cheering you on to health."
Diamond said: "Hiya Doc Brown.
I'm happy to hear that your doing better. Eating and getting sick is a bad habit to get into, that can make get even more sick in the end.
Telling your parents the truth is the first step in turning things around. Good luck!"

Charity said: "I'm praying for you man, I haven't throwen up in a long long time, and I know it's hard not to, but please please get better, because it takes a HELL of a long term toll on you. One of my stomach-acid- rotted teeth fell out of my face all of the sudden the other day. It was gross.I'm missing almost all of my molars. NO FUN!
Glad you're here, I came here sick in my mind, but I'm in remission, hoping that I don't go back to my old ways. Life is totally worth it."
