Heather said: "Hello and welcome to Featherish :) It's nice to have you here. Do you have a plan of action to lose the weight?"

cvalh said: "haha, that's a great idea. i'm such a freak about things like that - i'd probably go nuts if i ruined the row of stars :-P"

cvalh said: "Hey, we have similar weight goals. I started around 230 and am now at about 200, hoping to get to 140. Since graduating college in May, and now that I'm out on my own, I've had a new burst of motivation :) One of my biggest motivators is my desire to be healthy - I want to be able to play with my students on the playgroud (sitting on the bench watching is boring!)"

klynnfosh said: "Welcome and Best of Luck to You. I too use the Weight Watchers Points. I have found though since I quit going to the meetings I am not doing as well. When I was going and paying them my money I wanted to get something for my money so I think I tried harder. I really have to get focused and get back on track, the holidays are coming and then there is even more temptations around so I need to gain control now."

angel_rising said: "Welcome Congrats on the great start. One of the thing that I finds motivates me is when I lose 5 or 10 lbs I feel so great that I want to lose more. Good Luck Angel"

lothuial said: "Hi Guys, Im liking the stars idea too - at the moment i typed out all the pounds from 208 to 140 on my pc and printed them and every time i lose one of them i colour it in with highlighter!! Its nice to see the coloured bunch getting bigger. I also have a chart that breaks up my goals by each half stone (7 LBS) and i put a star beside each one as i reach it - im working on my 3rd one at the moment (nearly there!) These things just give you a visual and I find they motivate me, but im also happy i have the posts here to read because you hear successes - like hearing it is possible to lose 100lbs! talk soon - Linda"

lothuial said: "Hi, Well so far im just following the rules of weight watchers - but not going to the classes, counting points etc.. and just making better food choices and im also doing 30 + mins most days on my treadmill. I have wanted to lose weight for a long time and suddenly I had a burst of motivation to do so and have lost 16 lbs so far - this alone is now motivating me to keep going, and now i cant wait to shop til I drop!!!"

lothuial said: "Hi Jen, Thanks, we will do it I would just like someone to tell my successes and failures to and to motivate and listen to someone in return, feel free to chat any time! :)"

lothuial said: "Hi all, Im new here, have been reading posts etc for motivation and am feeling more positive seeing all the friendly chat and advise on this forum ;) Now im hoping you can help me to keep motivated and keep positive while aiming for my goals Biggest Weight: 225 Start Weight: 208 Current Weight: 192 Goal Weight: 140 Hope to chat soon!:)"

mamabluejen said: "Hi, lothuial. I'm new here too and could really use some motivation also. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. We can do this! Jen"

lakelady said: "Welcome! I'm new here as well, and I joined for the same reason. I had to diet after each of my four kids, but after the last one I atually gained weight! Then 7 years ago I lost 100 lbs and have kept it off for 6 years!:D Recently, I've loat all motivation and started to gain again. I joined this forum two days ago and started seriously dieting again then too. So far so good. I think this may help both of us. reading posts from others in the same situations and their tips REALLY, REALLY helps! Good Luck!"

lakelady said: "Ok, I'm doing this, don't laugh. I think this might be a permanent thing in almost every person's subconscious from elementary school. Every day that I don't cheat on my diet, I put a shiny gold star on my desk calendar. It seems such a shame to break up a nice row of stars, and filling a whole month will be a real satisfaction. I just started this (4 days), but it's stopped me from heading to the vending machine for 'just one' candy bar a few times already. Anything that helps, right?!"
