"treats" that aren't food might be stuff like a manicure, a pedicure, an really nice dress, a massage. you get the idea. if you are always working to reach these little goals, and you reach them you don't fail, know what i mean? exercise is important too."

Heather said: "I just wanted to touch on how important setting realistic goals are. It doesn't matter what age you are, or even what type of goal it is. It could be to get in better shape, to be more organized, to get better grades, whatever. If you set goals realistically, the better your chances of achieveing them. Like if overall you have a lot of weight to lose, set little attainable goals that you can reach in a realistic time frame. That way you have little successes! Don't focus on how much you still have yet to do, but be happy with what you have done and work diligently every day to work towards your ultimate goal."

Heather said: "
It might be even easier to set your goals in non-mathematical and date-linear manners. Why not just focus on the process of eating healthy and increasing your exercize. The truth is, after a couple of weeks of good eating and working out almost anyone will feel better. The benefits are so enormous that why even bother focusing on the negatives of "dieting"? Just do the work and the results will come.
Very good point, BigBoy."

Heather said: "Events are a good reason to work to get into shape. Spring and summer are good times to be in good shape. The work that you do now will help that you're comfortable in your own skin before the good weather arrives."
