A Good Diet Plan

DLT said: "The easiest diet plan to follow is at http://home.earthlink.net/~the-fat-race If you are a snacker, this is a great diet because you have to eat like every two hours. Since you like buttered popcorn, you are allowed this, sort of. You have to air pop some popcorn and use "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray on it for butter. The spray has no calories and no fat, don't ask me what it is made of but it tastes good. It only comes in the spray bottle and not in a tub."

Especially if you're doing it at night. 1 sleeve of low sodium premium crakers contains 80 grams of carbs, about 540 calories and 12 grams of fat. Multiply these numbers by 4 for a whole box. If you would like more info, check out Nabisco's website: http://www.nabiscoworld.com/sensiblesnacking"

Darren said: "Hi Holly, That plan doesn't sound too bad. What kind of snacking is your downfall?"

Darren said: "I've been eating low carb for the past 3 weeks. I'm down 22 pounds. Plus, I've lost the craving for sweets. I was eating crackers and snacking during the middle of night. If you limit your carbs to 20grams a day for a few weeks, you'll drop some of that carb addiction."

Darren said: "Snacking is the result of a bad mindset, IMHO. It means you're sittiing around being bored. Go out and run 3 miles, see if you still want a snack then."

Darren said: "Let's face facts: snacking is something the markters always want people to do. The more you snack, the more you buy. When they realized that they could lose a huge market of snackers to dieting, they thought "hmmm, let's fliip this script" and they came out with tons of diet snack items. The whole field of "diet concious" snack items should be approached with caution."

But you can usually get some where you can eat 5-8 crackers for around 200 cals. Crackers being Ritz sized or slightly larger. I'm not sure about the rest of the nutritional value, but I remember looking at it and thinking it was relatively decent for my needs."

UniqueMystique said: "Hehehe! I was just wanting you to clarify! ;) Keep at it!"

UniqueMystique said: "The easiest for me to follow is a low carb plan. I'm not much of a bread eater. Not an alcohol drinker. Not a sugar fiend. Not a sweets fanatic. Hardest thing for me to cut out is chips and salsa at Mexican restaraunts.....so I don't, I just have fewer. I love pasta but only my own dishes....so I just don't keep pasta in the house and I'm not tempted to make it. It's not for everyone....but it's closest to how I normally eat...so it's easy to stick to."

Holly said: "Hi there, Even though this may be a silly question, what diet plan has been the easiest for all of you to follow? I've been reading all of your posts and have been feeling very motivated to excercise regularly because of it. However, every morning for the past couple of weeks I start the day trying to eat less calories (about 1500), but end up snacking in the afternoon or evening (or just plain eating too much during a meal). I'm not a vegetarian, but I simply don't care for red meat or fish, however, I have been trying to up my protein intake and avoid sugary desserts and white breads. So, what has been your most successful (and easy to follow) diet plan so far?"

Holly said: "My snacking downfall seems to be crackers, popcorn (buttered), cookies, things of that nature. Usually in front of the TV (and just before bed...which, I know, is the worst time to eat)!"

Holly said: "Oh, I guess I didn't read my post carefully! Yes... I have been exercising (actually moving my butt). I circuit train 6 days a week (for about one hour sessions). I guess what I meant was that I have been exercising regularly for quite some time now, however, lately I've had more pep in my step about doing it. Yes, feelings don't tend to burn many calories!"

Holly said: "Thanks for the tips! I wish I didn't crave sugary/starchy things. I checked the site out that you mentioned, DLT. It was very interesting and informative. For now, I think I am going to concentrate on keeping myself busy to avoid overeating (I'm planning a wedding and doing crafts with my mom over spring break, so I shouldn't find it too hard). Right after Easter, however, I think I'll print out the diet plan from the "fat race" page. It looks very healthy. Thanks again, it feels good to type my thoughts away."

Holly said: "Yipes! Crackers are starting to look a little scarier! I checked out the Diet Bites web site that was suggested. What a fun place to look around. There is a ton of light-hearted, yet good, information. Wow, now I need to decide what is right for me."

Qian said: "The easiest for me has been doing what you are doing. Lower my carbs and excercise. In fact yesterday, I had enough calories left to have a piece of my daughter's b-day cake, with the icing. It was nice though, because i have developed enough control to just have one seving and call it good. I get my diet ideas from www.dietbites.com They have great articles and ideas for people that like to snack. In fact alot of their snacks are really good. Keep of the good work :)"

Qian said: "I think everyone has a diet that they can stick to. You just need to find it. Sometimes at night when I feel like snacking it's not because I am hungry, it is just boredom or thirst. I try to stay busy at nights, and get enough water throughout the day, and usually don't have problems."
