i need some advise

If you cut out junkfood, it will also help. Your only 14 and your body changes more and more. The best way is watch what you eat and get your body moving. Trick your body into a excercise plan. Books, boxes, anything you have around the house can be used as weights. Do you like swimming, bike riding, hockey, soccer? Cardiovascular workouts are the best. If you can just get into a routine you might get somewhat close to your goal. Losing weight has to be done regularily and frequently. I have known recommendations of 6 small meals a day and make sure you munch a lot of carrots and drink plenty of water. I am not so sure about losing 40 lbs in 3 weeks, I am sure though, you can get yourself looking a bit more fit by getting on the move. Good luck with your goal."

When I arrived for my first day at High School, there were kids I went to 8th. grade with that didn't recognize me and there were others I couldn't believe had lost so much weight in such a short time. You might find this site helpful, it has a diet and some helpfult hints and inspiration. http://home.earthlink.net/~the-fat-race Good luck, you are going to love high school. :)"

Dance classes, Gymnastics, Track (or just jogging or running) Baseball, Softball, Tennis just to name a few. Getting regular exercise should be priority number one, since you are still growing."

Heather said: "Another thing is that if you are active (and young) your body is still growing. Instead of focusing on losing weight, focus on trying to eat healthy and being active. The weight will take care of itself. As for foods, cottage cheese and yogurt are good to have. I always put fresh ground pepper on top of the cottage cheese. I have also stuffed a pita with a leaf of lettuce, then cottage cheese. Sort od a cottage cheese sandwich of sorts. Doesn't pack very well, though.."

cvalh said: "Shannon, I weighed 160 at age 14 (at 5'5" of height) and I was also in great shape. Not everything you hear about what you should weigh because of your age is true. There are averages, yes, and you might be above average, but there are many things more than pounds that you have to consider. What is your bone structure, how much of your weight is related to muscle and not fat, how tall are you, etc... I think if I were you I would check with a doctor or a nutritionist to get a professional's opinion."

iheartbings said: "thanks you guys for the advice and yes i do exercise...i play soccer but we just started up again after we skipped a indoor season. We only practice once a week but soon as it turns spring we practice twice and we have 2 games every week. i run too. track starts soon. but right now my school has this thing called donut run. we run downtown early friday morning before school and we do out route then we go to the bakery and get a drink and donut. but me and another girl have special permission to get a bagel instead. i try to eat healthy but my mom buys all this junk food. and my family doesnt think that im fat or need to lose weight but they dont know how much i weigh. and im not going to tell them either. so what i mainly need is like a list of healthy foods that kids like me like. i pack my own lunch and i ususually pack carrots , cauliflour broccoli and sometimes some fruit. but thats it everyday. and i get sick of the same foods over and over again and thats why all my diets fail. i get sick of the foods. i was wondering is peanut butter good to eat or bad?? cause sometimes for a snack i eat apple slices with peanut butter and raisens on top. its really good. but i dont know if its really healthy. so if you could just leave some healthy foods that you like it would be great!! :) thanks again you guys! ;)"

Qian said: "Peanut Butter isn't bad as long as you don't eat a whole lot. One thing that helps me is to stick to the actual seving sizes. Other healthy foods are Fruits, Eggs, Lean Meats (chicken, turkey, lean beef, fish), I like to eat whole grains too, but alot of people wouldn't like that. Just be sure to keep track of everything you eat, and don't eat more than a serving at each meal. Good luck. A good site that has a lot of suggestions and information is www.dietbites.com"

Qian said: "Don't worry, stick to your diet and the weight will start to fall off. Just stick to your guns, and don't give up. Realize that becoming healthy now and sticking to it will only enrich your life in the future. Be happy with your decisions and with yourself and nothing can go wrong. Keep it up :)"
