Losing motivation

Scarlett said: "Alright, first off we all have those times where we just want to eat junk, especially around the time of the month. The whole key is not to feel as though you have failed when you do do things like that, just jump right back onto the wagon of eating healthy and excersizing the very next meal. See it's OK to indulge (I don't think I could have gotten as far as I have without the occasional indulgence), you know it's the over indulgence which is bad, and you must find your own way to not overindulge. TO lose weight and keep it off you need to realize that you can't just eat healthy some of the time then go back to your old ways once you've lost the weight you want to lose, (your old ways are what got you to where you want to lose weight in the first place) you have to realize that you need to eat healthy most of the time in your life to keep the weight off and to keep healthy and slim and trim. If you indulge every now and again it's not going to hurt you, if you don't indulge you will feel deprived which could lead to a binge of eating junk! So instead of worrying about it just jump right back in with the next meal. Keep working out and keep eating right, and you know even if you don't lose your weight by your graduation you'll be glad that you stuck with it anyways. So don't set time limits on yourself, I promise you that if you stick with it you WILL lose your weight and look and feel better than ever. Make this a lifetime choice and you will succeed, and you won't need as much motivation b/c this will be engrained in your head as a way of life and nothing less. Keep in mind that your old ways of not excersizing and eating junkfood is what got you here in the first place. Now to share a tip, around that time of the month I like to keep dark chocolate around (it's what I crave the most) I will eat a serving size very slowly when the urge strikes and my cravings will be gone, b/c the dark chocolate is so strong (I used to like milk chocolate in my pre-eating healthy days, but I switched to dark b/c it takes care of chocolate cravings much more quickly b/c of how strong it is). If you are one of those cookies and chips types people get some of the 100 calorie packs and when you do eat them eat them slooooowly and drink a lot of water. The cravings will pass then. We are all guilty of getting a little bit of the munchies when on our periods, but the key is to keep working out and indulge but don't over indulge. If I can do this you can too."

But remember that this is a lifestyle change and more or less, as mentioned earlier, this way of life will become something that you don't think about. I am trying to lose only about 10-15 pounds ideally because I feel that I need to take control of the food not the other way around. Motivation It can be difficult sometimes to keep up the whole health bit but you took the first step to realize that you need to do this for yourself. That should be the most important thing. Just remember that you will gain more self-confidence in every part of your life. I know for a fact that people will even see you as a motivational factor that is missing in their life. Currently, I am in school and I bike to school and during lunch I go for a jog or walk and the other girls in my class have told me that they see me as a role model. That in itself is a motivation factor. Now they do more activity in their own life. Just the fact that I could somehow bring something different to someone else's life is wonderful. Remember...life will throw you curveballs that may throw you off track but you need to stick to what's true to you regardless..... If anything, do this for yourself and prove to yourself that nothing is too great. P.S. What I like to do is see myself, mentally, looking good, feeling great, and all the other positive things that I will gain. Don't forget to treat yourself every step of the way cause you deserve it. :)"
