New Shoe Time!New Shoe Time!

Also, I had 3 new blisters and a missing toenail after my run, which means only one thing...my shoes are officially turning to crap and I need new ones!! So that's my big errand tomorrow...buying new running shoes. I think I'll get another pair of New Balance since I like how supportive they are. I just hope I can get a decent deal on them.
So a reminder to all of you...inspect your workout shoes. If they are really ratty-looking, over 6 months/500 miles old, or just severely worn out, it's time for new ones. You'll prevent injuries AND it's a great excuse to go shopping!"

It just varies slightly depending on the weather/terrain I run on and how often I run. I try to replace mine every 500 miles, which is for me every 6 weeks or so...sometimes I go 2 or 3 months, but after 3 months I REALLY need to replace them. I usually get a pretty good deal when I buy them in the winter, but there's almost always a style on sale. I don't have many "special needs" as a runner, so I can wear a large variety of shoes without worrying about whether they'll aggravate an injury.
hanx...I did a marathon in October...where's your half marathon taking place? I'm thinking of training for another marathon, but I may take a little time off and recover first."

I used to buy a pair every 2 months until my husband finally nipped that in the bud! :) Try Ebay (if there is a certain pair that you have tried on or already owned and liked) or hit the local outlet mall, if you have one. I hate to drive all over the city to every shoe store, I so I usually call in advance and see what stores have deals such as buy one get one 1/2 off. I got my last pair on sale and saved $25!"
