Fun Exercise!

featherish said: "Sweet. So your next class is tonight? If you disguise it as something fun, it makes it less of a drag to do. Dancing is always a good time! Which do you like the best?"

Heather said: "That is one of the secrets of losing weight. Finding something you enjoy doing, so you can disguise it as exercise. I'm happy that you are enjoying your dance classes and think it's wonderful that you got involved in more. Bellydancing should get that ab area buff as sh*t! Keep us posted on your progress!"

Heather said: "Cool! Are the classes at the same dance school?"

Cupcake said: "I started taking tap dance classes a few weeks back... and I ended up totally loving it. Dancing's a great way to get exercise. I get more sweaty dancing for one hour than I do working out at the gym, and its a lot more fun than a boring treadmill!! Now I take jazz dance class also, and belly dancing too! Combine those new classes with the regular pilates and the strength class I've been taking for months and I work out 5 times a week without ever getting on a treadmill or being in the gym. With my diet, I should be at my goal weight in no time!"

Cupcake said: "My tap dancing class is tonight. That ones really fun, and I get the sweatiest in that class. Belly dancing is fun... it really makes you feel good about yourself too."

Cupcake said: "Thats true for my belly dancing class... Im actually one of the slimmest ones in the class (!!!!!). They're philosophy is you need a belly to belly dance. But my tap class is a bunch of 16 yr old girls who've been dancing since they were 6. You should see the legs on them! And ZERO hips. I think Ive got enough for all of em. But surprisingly, thats the most fun class. I just tell myself I'm not 16 so I don't have the body of 16 yr old. :D Still a lot of fun."

UniqueMystique said: "Good for you!!! It's great when you find something that you enjoy. It doesn't seem so much like work that way."

UniqueMystique said: "My daughter's dance school and gymnastics gym has children, teenagers, and adults of all sizes. Many schools don't require that you weer leotards now either. I know that neither of these here do. Most wear baggy t-shirts and shorts or jazz pants. Don't fear what you may love....that's not living. I admire people who get out and do what they want to do! Who gives a rip if you've got excess weight. If people make comments...just look at them and say..."At least I'm trying to do something about it"...and get back to the fun stuff."

lotusleaf said: "you might be surprised to find that people who go to classes are in the same situation as you!! Its a real myth that only fit slim people go to dance classes-why not look for one that suits your needs more, and at the end of the day-life is way too short to worry about what other people think of you-im just learning that and im 31!!!! :)"

Qian said: "It may sound silly, but it's true. Don't let your weight keep you from doing something that you think would be fun. For one thing, other people really don't care about that, for the most part they'll admire you for trying to get in shape, and for the other thing, you are going to reach your goals quicker by doing something you like, than doing something that bores you. Good luck and get out there and do what you want."
