tennis anyone?

pixiechic said: "i have wanted to take tennis lessons for a while. i bought a racket yesterday and signed up for classes that start monday. anyone here play?"

pixiechic said: "were you any good back in the day bigboy? the first class worked up a good sweat. I was able to hit about half of the balls. a couple of days later, i can feel that my arms got a definite workout. my next lesson is on monday, but i am considering going in for a private lesson to see if i can get better faster."

pixiechic said: "i ahd my second lesson on monday, and i think i actually did pretty okay. i'm going to take a private lesson or two to get even better. i really would like to be good enough to get in some tennis games when the cold spell breaks!"

pixiechic said: "
Sounds like a lot of great fun! Make sure you let us know when you get to Wimbledon! :D
lol. will do. lesson 3 is tommorrow morning. the other women in the class are all real nice. a new person was there last week that wasn't that good, either. we can help each other get better."

pixiechic said: "i have taken a couple of private lessons, and i feel like i'm improving my stroke a bit. the tennis balls aren't landing 2 courts over anyhow! lol. plus when i get good i can buy some cute tennis skirts. next monday will be my fourth or fifth session already."

pixiechic said: "thanks! will do :)"

pixiechic said: "
You have more patience than I do, Pixie. I tried playing tennis when I was younger and I couldn't handle it. Wasn't fast enough to get across the court to volley back.....hehehehe.
thanks for the kind words! did you take lessons or just try to play? taking a few lessons has made a big difference already. i tried to play a couple of times (before lessons) and i couldn't even hit the ball. now i know why. i didn't know how to hold the racket right! these little things make a big difference in your game. it is actually fun when you (kinda) know what you are doing."

Henrietta said: "It's like any other sport or discipline. It takes time. But the results are worth it. It's a lot of fun playing tennis."

Heather said: "Doing things that are fun help to keep you motivated to keep doing it. If it something that you enjoy, you are more likely to do it. Is it hard?"

Heather said: "Glad to hear that you are getting better at your game, Pixie! Keep practicing and you are bound to see improvements."
