Making Time...Making Time...

It's hard to get excited about going to the gym sometimes, especially if you're already there for a lot of hours anyhow.
Our Bally's membership has expired and we decided not to renew it because our "contract" with was bunk. After being double and triple billed more than once we decided to start exercising in the nice fresh sunny air.
It's a lot easier to walk out to the garage and hop on our bikes than to suit up and drive to the gym to ride a stationary one!
Congrat on getting your half hour in, and don't be surprised if going off the pill will help you lose some weight. When I went off back in 2001 it seems like I dropped a bit of weight pretty quickly. (At that time I weighed about 190)
I'm at between 140-150 now, and just need to shave off those last 20-25 pounds.
I'll try to keep my eye on ya! ;)"

I always feel better if I get my workout done earlier in the day, that way it can't be taken from me.
I have a harder time if I wait until later in the day..
Did you get your walk in today?"

I haven't been working out much at all for the past few months. I've been stuck at 172 since mid-February. I've not lost any inches since that time either. I've not wanted to go to the gym in the mornings to work out because I spend 4 hours a night, 4 days a week at that place coaching gymnastics. I just don't want to feel like I live there! I've been eating pretty well....but I became lax on the working out part. I do a lot of stuff while coaching...but it's not a consistent thing so I'm not reaping a lot of benefits from it....other than just staying active.
I have a 20 year high school reunion to attend in exactly one month. I'd really like to be in the 160's by then.
Also....on Friday, I'm going to stop taking my birth control pills to see if my cycle and my moods have straightened out (doctor's suggestion). I'm hoping that coming off of those will help me in the weight loss department too.
Sooooooo....I'm starting a log of my daily exercise. If you don't see a post from me daily.....start nagging me!!!! :D I need it!!!!!
Here goes-------
Wednesday, May 10
Treadmill: 30 minutes (Moderate pace)"
UniqueMystique said: "I'm really hoping that since I've dropped quite a bit of weight that my cycle and mood will go back to normal. I was having it every three weeks instead of every four....and I could go from happy to royal b*tch in 5 seconds flat....no matter what time of the month it was.
I need to clean out our workshop and organize it. I think that after I get that done (and since I'll have to pull my bike out of the shop)...I'll try and get my bike in shape and start trying to ride it some."
UniqueMystique said: "klynn.....I work at the gym from 4 - 8pm (sometimes more)....no breaks. By the time I get home it's almost 9pm. If I exercise that late in the evening I'll be up all night. I've just got to motivate myself to do some workouts here around the house in the mornings. I already feel better just from walking the 30 minutes this morning. You forget how much more energy you have from working out when you stop doing it.
My schedule will change come June....I'll be at the gym even more!!!!! Four days a week...8am - 12pm and two evenings a week...5pm - 8pm. Plus some Saturdays mornings from 9am - 12pm. I plan on taking the kids swimming on the days that I don't work evenings. I'll just need to swim more and sun worship less. ;)"
UniqueMystique said: "I haven't yet.....it's been chaos around here this mornng. I'll get it in after I take my youngest to school. :D"

Worked for 4 hours, non-stop, cleaning on my shop. Moving, lifting, sweeping, and hammering.
And I'm only 1/4 of the way through getting it clean!!!!! Yikes!!!!!"
klynnfosh said: "I can see where you wouldn't want to exercise after leaving work. Maybe if you have a break at work, you could use that time to go out for a walk and get part of your daily exercise in. I know how hard it is for me to exercise, I sit all day at a desk job and when I go home I have no energy. Usually once I get started I am ok, but that getting started in the key. If you like biking I would try that in the evenings when you get home, that would be great."
klynnfosh said: "My bad Unique! I should have read your post a little closer. I agree then the work out that late would just keep you up. You have the right idea just walk in the a.m., it usually a little cooler then too! Well get that bike out and start your day then. You know they actually say to exercise in the morning is the best anyway, you get your metabolism revved up and it stays that way for hours."
