Can I lose 35 pounds in 60 days?

I don't think it would be very possible no matter what you did. If you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and slow down, and you won't lose much that way either. As thintowin pointed out, 1-2 pounds a week is healthy, although if you are losing quite a bit it can go up a bit. I think a better (and still fairly aggressive goal) would be 20 pounds. That's 2 pounds a week + 3 pounds, for that extra bit you'll probably lose when you first start. I'm not sure what is in 60 days that you're trying to lose for, but you should really focus less on losing quickly and think more along the lines of just getting healthy. If you do it the healthy way, and take your time, you'll be more likely to keep the weight off."

But as I pointed out, it really depends how overweight you are. If you're got over 100 pounds to lose like at-war-with-myself, there is a VERY small chance you even COULD do it, but I would argue its extrordinarily unlikely, and impossible to do healthily. Limited your body to less than 1200 calories a day is a disaster waiting to happen. You don't learn the proper eating habits, and so when you finally stop restricting that much, you're much more likely to pack the pounds back on (this is scientifically proven, PM me if you want articles). Not only that, but if you're over 100 pounds overweight and you lose 60 pounds in 50 days, a lot lf that is arguably water weight, not real fat. Most experts say its impossible to gain or lose more than 1/2 pound of fat a day. Anything beyond that is usually waterweight. Even if I pretend that would be possible for SOMEONE, I doubt it is possible for you ashley. If you're only 35 pounds away from a resonably healthy weight, your weight loss will be MUCH slower than someone who is losing over 100 pounds. Don't get discouraged though, as I pointed out before, its not about losing as much as you can as fast as you can, its about being healthy and being able to maintain the weight loss."

thintowin said: "Well, that would be 4 lbs per week, which would be difficult and not so healthy to do. I've lost about 35 lbs in three months. Which is about 2.91 lbs per week. Healthy weight loss is recommended to be 1-2 lbs per week, and losing more slowly will help keep the wieght off longer. I guess that just depends on how much total you have to lose. I still have a good 50-60 lbs I want to lose. But instead of focusing on trying to lose weight so quickly, just focus on eating healthy and exercising. The weight will come off, and even if it rakes two of three times 60 days, it will still be worth it. Good luck!"

Impossible. Even if it was possible, you would end up in the hospital. You should be eating a minimum of 1200 calories per day."

Just eat healthier and make better food choices, drink water and exercise, that is the magic formula for lasting weight loss. If you set yourself up to lose that much or be disappointed you will not be happy with what weight lose you accomplish. Just be proud that you want to take the step to do something about your weight problem and let your body lose at the rate that is comfortable for it without risking your health."
