Just a bit about what might work for others

I recently as of Feb.19 2005 have started to walk my dog daily at 8pm, bike to gym and workout then bike home, only 20 minutes total for biking. I also went to more natural ways of dealing with stress, I mean vitamins and proper sleep. I get up and make sure I am out of the house by 10:30 am and I go to the Curves gym 3 to 4 times a week. I do a lot of reading about what hinders weight loss. Food does. If you eat when your upset or bored, that is the thing that gets it (the weight gain)started. I have not cut out fats or sugars, I just eat less of them. If I sit down, I keep my hands and mind busy until bed. I have lost 3 inches from february 19 to march 9. I use a tape measure, not a scale. Scales are not true to your work. This is things I have found that work and don't. I eat sunflower seeds when I get the munchies and it has moderate salts. I have went down from 298 as of Sept 15 of 2004. I think that you don't have to go all out on the start, start slow and force yourself. I have found that having a good support network alike yourself really helps. If you plug along, it will come off. The results are seen way better by tape measure not scales."

Too often we take things too far in one direction or the other--we're either semi-starving ourselves or eating everything in sight. We need to restore balance to our lives, just like you are. You're making small changes that will make you feel better, then you'll feel like doing a little more. Before you know it, you'll have the body and fitness you desire! Bravo to you! And good luck and good eating!"

I turned to sunflower seeds when I quit smoking in November of 2004. It is so hard to cut a habit after breaking another. I gained 30 lbs after I quit, I am still working to get it off."

I, for one, don't eat as many as is often suggested for a serving. And, if your option is sunflower seeds or a fatty piece of beef (for that protein), go for the seeds!"
