Either way though, you seem to be doing something right! Good job on the 5 lbs lost! I can't wait to break the 160's too...I haven't been in them for that long, but I already want out!!
You definately deserve a new pair of pants, XL's just won't work for you any more :P"
Scarlett said: "Congrats on hitting your goal!! I know how you feel about it being tough for you, it's beeing a struggle for me too...and I have those snack food days...lol I'm trying to stop that! I've been trying to bring more fruits and veggies with me to work and stuff and ti's been working much better ;)"
ExManiac said: "Hmm... I'm not sure what I'm going to put in here exactly.
Right now I'm at 160, down from my former 165 (yay). Breaking that 160 barrier is what I'm working on now. With this nice weather, though, I've got no excuse not to go out and walk/run, and it makes me want to get into shape for summer.
Today I ate...
Um... I know I had something for breakfast... ??
(this might be part of my diet problem right here; I can't remember what I ate).
Lunch was a Subway Turkey breast on honey oat w/ pepperjack cheese and no dressing, packed w/ healthy veggies. Also had a coffee.
Dinner was a slice of my sister's quesadilla and an Sobe No Fear energy drink.
Wow. I know I also munched random junk throughout the day. I think I'm going to have another sub tomorrow, because it's Italian B.M.T. (yes, I know... I know the daily specials by heart... I don't go Fridays because I'm not a big canned tuna fan).
I was on my feet all day, but I didn't really do any real exercise. I plan on jogging tomorrow."
ExManiac said: "Okay, I went for my thirty minute jog. It was more of a walk/jog. I started off a bit fast, I think. I don't think I've jogged since... November. It's amazing how out of shape I got.
Don't get me wrong; I've still been exercising, but I think running requires a certain something. I think I need to get all those muscles that I haven't been using used to the routine again.
On the plus side, I felt like I got a good workout. I kind of dislike city jogging, because I feel like everyone is watching me. That's why I usually go in the evening.
Oh, and another thing; my pants were falling off! They're XL, and when I wear them around home, they settle around my hips. But they were like... making a dive for the ground! I even rolled the wasteband over, but to no avail. I think I need some smaller pants.
My breakfast today was another Sobe energy drink (260 calories). ...I really need to go shopping.
Subway for lunch - Italian BMT w/ cheese (500 calories)
It's food day at work. This is the dieters equivalent of a vegetarian trying to eat at a steakhouse. My game plan for dinner is to take one of everything healthy (celery sticks, wraps, pickles, fruit, even lunch meat) and if I've got any room left on my plate... maybe a little something naughty."
ExManiac said: "Thanks Scarlett! Yeah, I need jog more often if I want to keep in shape for it.
I did a little walking today, but nothing to speak of, because it's raining outside. I'll DDR this evening.
For breakfast I had a small bowl of Chili (300)
Lunch was a greek salad (350) and a bun (150)
I'm premeditating some starbucks..."
ExManiac said: "ugh... yesterday was yucky, eating-wise.
Today was not so good either, but I'll be better tomorrow...
Breakfast was a can of Amp, which is pretty crappy as energy drinks go... or I've become such a caffeine addict that I don't even feel whatever effects it *should* have... (120)
For mid-morning snack, I had corn chowder and a slice of bread (350)
For lunch, I ate half of a buffalo chicken wrap (300) with a side of fries (400)
For a grand total of 1170. I think I'm done for the day... I feel like a whale. It really wasn't that awful, calorieswise, but it was all junk...
I plan on playing a 1/2 hour of DDR tonight."
ExManiac said: "Thanks Derry!
Once I'm rolling down the top of them, I think I'll have them bronzed and send them to a poor family in Idaho so they can use them as a sled.
Haha! I should do that with mine too.
Hmmm so today...
For breakfast I had a green apple and a bowl of soup.
For lunch I had a chicken salad (the chicken was breaded...bad) and about a cup of sweetened ice tea.
I played DDR for 1/2 hour tonight. I'll probably go munch something yet.
Monday is my weigh day, and I'm still hanging at 160."
ExManiac said: "Ugh. No exe4rcise today. Didn't eat too much though, but ugh.
Okay, so breakfast was a cup of chicken noodle with crackers and an apple again. (yeah, I'm not too creative here). I also had a slice of bread.
lunch... and here's the big mistake... was 1/2 caesar salad. So I thought I'd try the anchovies that come (optional) with that. Four hours later, I still could still taste them, and boy did I feel like throwing up. Fortunately, I didn't, but gag me...
Don't get me wrong, I'm the sort of person who likes to try new things. And hey, I like pickled herring, and every form of sushi I've ever tried. But anchovies... were put on this earth to punish sinners. And I must've done something reaaaaally bad. Anyway, I felt really awful for the rest of the night, and didn't eat anything else. Well, my sister is having some popcorn now, and perhaps I can destroy the disgusting tang of anchovies that is still lingering in my throat.
Ugh...
That'll teach me to be adventurous."
ExManiac said: "Ok. So I did *not* exercise as much as I was supposed to last week. I think I'll take a page from fitwitch's book (er journal) and plan it out ahead of time.
Sunday/ Walk 30 min
Monday/ Jog 30 min
Tuesday/ --------
Wednesday/ DDR 30 min
Thursday/ Jog 30 min
Friday/ ????
Saturday/ Tennis if it's nice"
ExManiac said: "I'm not sure how I got to 155. The only thing I can figure is all the stress/running around at work got me there. I've been eating a lot of junk lately, and rarely exercising.
Yesterday, I played my DDR like I was supposed to. :)
Today, I'm going to do 20 minutes of DDR before work and 20-30 minutes of jogging after work. I really like this breaking up my workout thing. Knowing you only have to do it for 20 minutes makes it so much easier to get going, and the time just flies.
And ARGH! It's gorgeous outside and I wanted to play tennis today. Unfortunately, my glasses are broken, and my eye appointment isn't until next wednesday. Yeah, and I've been driving around like this... not good. I should have bought contacts and new glasses before now, but I haven't had any money.
Today so far I ate:
2 cups frosted miniwheats (400)
1/2 grapefruit (50)
1 DQ sm icecream cone (240 - not so bad, and what a treat!)
Tab energy drink (5... I'm so hooked on these)
Um, tonight I'm probably going to have some salad, some cottage cheese, and fish for dinner. I've got like 600 calories left to 'spend', so I'm doing pretty well. :)"
ExManiac said: "Hmmm... I think I was supposed to go jogging today *sigh*
I really meant to... but I didn't get home til like 9:30, and it was kind of late... not a very good excuse, I know.
For calories... hm I didn't have much, because of working 2 jobs. I should have actually had more to eat, but I was running around all day.
1/2 cup soup
1 piece bread
1 chocolate bunny candy piece
gardettos 270ish
cafe mocha 90
smoked salmon 100
cereal 300
it was all snack food
ugh...
It's been really tough these past few weeks, eating well and excercising. However, as I did hit my 155 goal, it's time to update my siggy!"
ExManiac said: "Thanks so much, Derry & Scarlett!!
Yeah, gardettos really aren't that naughty of a snack... they have a lot of protein in them. I guess it beats a candy bar, anyway. Poor Tuna!
I think I have a sinus infection now!! If I could stop getting sick, I swear... Anyway, I'm still hanging around 155, but now that I've bumped up the exercise, hopefully that will change soon."
ExManiac said: "So yesterday I went jogging for a half an hour. :)
But a few days before that, I went for a real jog. It was the weirdest thing. I ate mcdonalds (which I never, ever do) and I had so much energy, I just couldn't sit still at work. After I got done with work, I went for a crazy long jog!
I think I've been eating pretty well - salads and such at work, lots of fruits and veggies.
I'm trying to decide if I want to go jogging today or not. I'm moving  so maybe not."
ExManiac said: "Today I had a curry chicken salad for breakfast (calories = ????)
I played DDR for 1/2 hour, and I'm going w/ my sister to play tennis now.
I know I'm going out tonight, so I really have to be careful. Yesterday, I ate like a box of breadsticks and 2 pieces of pizza around 11:00 pm. :(
Buuuuut I know I'm not going to want to ruin all of this exercise by binging so I'll be good. :)"
ExManiac said: "So 153 is what the scale says.
Today:
Subway turkey and ham w/all the veggies, pepperjack and a dash of olive oil
..............(430)
Cappucino
..............(200)
I'm premeditating some soup from the gas station, an apple or two and... hmm. I'm not sure what else. I'm also going walking tonight w/ my gfs.
Edit: So okay, I didn't go walking, but I did go for a nice long bike ride.
I ate:
Mcchicken 370
Parfait 160
4 sm. apples 320
pretzels 200
breadstick 100
piece of cake 100
total: 1880
well, could have been better, could have been worse. Definitely need to get some veggies in there. Geez, and I'm still hungry. That bike ride was a pretty good workout, but not enough to justify eating any more calories."
ExManiac said: "So today was really good... til I ate 5 sugar cookies. I haven't weighed myself in a while, and I'm a little afraid to. I need to keep around 1300 calories (today was just over 1500) since I haven't been doing much in the way of exercise.
Tomorrow I'm thinking eggs for breakfast, subway for lunch, and chicken breast w/ veggies for dinner.
However, I'm being really good about not drinking drinks that have calories. :) That's a start.
Sigh. This whole dieting thing is a lot of work..."
Kat_the_Amazon said: "Thanks for your well-wishes :) i think it was mainly because i was about to start TOM, but i think there's some stuff going around! My mom was sick a few days ago and some people i work with coming down with something."
Derry said: "
They're XL, and when I wear them around home, they settle around my hips. But they were like... making a dive for the ground! I even rolled the wasteband over, but to no avail.
Omg, good job! I can't wait until my 'big' pants do that. They were ugly when they were jeans, and even uglier now that I've chopped them into shorts rolled up with a cuff at the knees. Once I'm rolling down the top of them, I think I'll have them bronzed and send them to a poor family in Idaho so they can use them as a sled.
Grats on the new pants! :)"
Derry said: "Grats ExManiac :D
Damn, Gardetto's are good. The bag makes the same noise as the Whiska Lickin's bag though, and it drives my cat crazy when my husband eats them. Tuna thinks that my husband is bogarting the biggest bag of Whiska Lickin's ever.
