I had to use one with my dog Scout for a while when she was still in training mode because she LOVED to pull and trip me. A harness makes it much easier to deal with them, plus they're more humane than a choke collar.
I don't have a pic of Scout on this computer (I'm at work), but I have couple of her lounging on our bed, acting like she's the head cheese :) I'll post it later on. She's a Lab/Rottweiler mix and she's probably the best dog I've ever owned, behavior-wise. She never barks, doesn't chew/dig/otherwise destroy things, she's perfectly housebroken, and she doesn't get in garbage or eat gross things. Plus she's a really great running buddy :)
Does anyone's dog have a favorite toy or game? Scout has a red plastic cube that you can put treats into. It has a hole and the treats randomly fall out as you roll the cube around. She LOVES it. She figured out that it gave out treats right away and she'll put her paw on the edge of it and press down so that the cube flips up in the air and lands, spilling a couple of treats. It's so funny to watch her with it!"

I couldn't get Scout to wear one though...she had been abused as a puppy (some idiot tied a sock around her face to keep her from chewing and barking!) and doesn't tolerate that too well. I suppose putting a harness on a sled dog might let her pull a bit too hard! Scout used to pull a bit, but not nearly as bad as some dogs I've walked. I used to volunteer at the Humane Society and I ran dogs for exercise (a GREAT workout idea, all you animal lovers!!). I ran with a VERY active pit bull once and he could pull pretty hard."

Here is my big ball of trouble. Her name is Chloe and she's an 18mth old Alaskan Malamute. She's still very much in the puppy stage and I HOPE she will grow out of it very soon  She's also starting to become my running partner and is jumping on me and tripping me up less the more we do it

I also have a white fluffy cat called Lucy but she's very camera shy. Lucy and Chloe don't get on (to say the least). Tonight I let Chloe in and Lucy was in the kitchen. Chloe ran straight past lucy to check out Lucy's bowl and thens stopped halfway inbetween the bowl and Lucy. She was looking backwards and forwards between the bowl and Lucy. I could see her mind going over and over..."cat, food, cat, food, which one to do I choose, cat or food" Lucy won, but only because she took off to hide. After chasing Lucy, Chloe came back and proceeded to eat all of Lucy's food
I'd love to see everyone else's animals

I don't use a harness with her when we are running, i actually use a halti on her the whole time now. Harnesses are designed to make them pull and with a dog that is breed to pull several hundred kgs that's the last thing I want when we are running  Using the halti makes it feel like I am walking a horse...I had so much control and don't even know she is on the other end of the lead when she is heeling properly.
