skin question

I had the stretch marks thing happen to me as well (when I gained weight, not when I lost it). I've found that keeping my skin moisturized and exfoliating regularly seems to help them fade. I swear by Palmer's cocoa butter lotion for moisturizing. It's not magic or anything, but it really does help keep your skin soft. I think for me, the biggest factor was the exercising....the increased bloodflow and the increase in muscle tone really helped firm up and even out the texture of my skin."

Scarlett said: "Oh yes, when I started eating right, and excersizing my skin has improved a lot. In fact I get compliments on my complexion all the time. Remember that what you put into your body will show on the outside. So if you eat right and take your vitamens and all of that good stuff it will show that you have beautiful skin! But I'll tell you what sucks is that since I gained all that weight I am left with stretch marks. I know that as I go on they will fade the way that scars fade, but unfortunately stretch marks tend to be the side effect of gaining weight and losing it!"

Scarlett said: "I haven't tried merderma but i have heard that its a godsend for people w/stretch marks. I do use cocoabutter and take all kinds of vitamens so that helps a lot...they are scars though, so they take a while to fade. I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage! :( Well hopefully a healthy diet and of course water and all of that will help your complexion, but if you don't see a change after you've lost some weight and have been eating healthy maybe go see a dermatologist about your skin."

Everyone kept saying to me "drink more water and cut out the fat, and your skin will love you for it!" my gosh it has worked! - and still working! i've been drinking almost 2 litres per day for about 15 days so far, and already i am noticing clearer, healthier and smooth skin! I wish i had of changed my diet sooner!"

KrysHaley said: "Has anyone seen any improvement in their skin tone/texture/apperance since losing weight? It seems the heavier I got, the more awful my skin looks...And i"m only 22! Just wondering if anyone else found these two things related."

KrysHaley said: "thanks for replying. I have a few strech marks, but the ones right on my tummy is from a miscarriage I had a year ago. I was 22 weeks, so I was getting on up there when it happened. (that's also the start of my weight gain) But mostly my skin just looks so ruff and bumpy. Not really like acne, just...bad skin texture. I'm sure drinking all the water will help too. Once again, thanks for replying. BTW, have you used mederma, or cocca butter for the marks?"

KrysHaley said: "it's a stretch mark/scar treatment, you can find it in the health and beauty aids at walmart..it's slightly pricey, but it works!"
