You will never accomplish anything if you try nothing at all. I my self wrote this!"

a couple of quick tips for you though.. if you drink pop, you can cut back on your calories by a lot just by skipping them or cutting back.
are you involved in any sports or extracurricular activities?"
pixiechic said: "you also want to (realistically) consider how much exercise you get in a day.
if you are only 13, you still have a lot of growing to do, so i might suggest getting more active as well.."

You can't starve yourself. The best person to talk to is a nutritionalist and your doctor. Your parent or close family can help you access that. If you start out slow and work your routine up, you will notice with a tape measure that change is happening for you. I was very heavy as a teen. All I suggest is that you try and take the stairs not elevator, get mobile when you sit and watch tv. I picked up a pair of sandfilled ankle weights for under 10$. You can do this."

Just try to find an activity that's fun for you and that you'll stick with."

I was going to post the same thing, and you are exactly correct. I say it all the time, and I will say it again. A diet is a temporary change to the way that you eat, that in the long run, will only lead to temporary weight loss.
Most diets also invoke the starvation response that everyone has and ends up causing higher body fat on those that try these diets. It is such a scandal in the diet industry.
So, make sure you make a lifestyle change to the way that you eat and live. A diet is not a solution!"
theirmom said: "not diet, I think changing eating habits for life and quit thinking of it as a diet would help. It has me anyway..I don't diet; I eat healthier than what I was to feel better and lose weight...just a thought."
