EXTRA lean ground turkey breast. (I buy Jennie-O)
Kidney Beans (I only buy canned if there is no sugar, other than that I get the bag and cook them overnight in the crock pot)
whole grain brown rice (not the instant. the kind in the bag)
After the beans are cooked:
brown the ground turkey in a little bit of canola oil. The turkey is super lean with only about .5 grams of saturated fat so it will not produce any liquid like hamburger. When all nice and browned add a cup of the kidney bean juice to the turkey and stir. Add 1/2 package of Sloppy Joe mix (the powder in a package) stir and simmer. Of course be cooking your rice in a pot according to the directions. When the rice is done everything is ready to serve. I serve it a couple of ways.
1. I scoop 1/4 cup of rice on the plate and cover it with the skillet mixture.
2. I add the rice in the skillet and simmer for a little bit longer. I take about a cup of the mixture and dump it on the bottom half of a WHOLE wheat bun. Now I do not eat bread. The only bread I will eat is WHOLE wheat and it is hard to find. I have a whole natural food store by the house I buy it from. The ingredients are whole durham wheat, yeast, whole wheat flour.
This recipe is not for the low carbers or carb concious. However this is an all natural meal and the carbs are all good complex fiberous carbs! Full of fiber.
P.S this meal is super low in fat!! The only fat is from the tad bit of Canola oil (good fat) and the little bit of saturated fat in the turkey."

I added the rice for carb reasons when I was balancing macros."
