New Gym, New Me?

Heather said: "I just started going to a new gym, (since I'm paying extra on dues for this "priviledge") and I think that this will make a big difference. The reasons? They have a lot more cardio machines.. I think like 35, instead of the 15 the old gym has. More energy.. There are a lot more people there actually working out instead of just sitting around doing a lot of talking. Having a bit of "fit" competition inspires me. Cleaner.. The gym is a lot cleaner and bigger.."

Heather said: "The funny thing is, the same people (at the old gym) look almost the same as what they did when I first started going there in 2003.. There is one older gent that has a "workout" shirt that says "I ran out of sick days, so I called in dead" That is inspiring! Almost everyone at the new place has a CD player or Ipod, and just go about doing their own thing.."

Heather said: "I went there today at like 11:AM, and the place was packed! Couldn't even get on a machine (and there's lots of them) so we went back to the old gym for todays workout.. Did the stationary bike and some light strength training (abs, triceps and back) It was good, though.. Just had to do the work.."

Especially when they want to chit chat with me! I mean...helping someone learn the equipment is one thing...but wanting to talk about trivial day to day stuff irritates me."

Especially if there is a time limit. Sounds like the new place is a lot nicer. (And yeah, cleanliness is good...nothing like someone else's icky sweat all over everything or a nasty locker room). Let us know how you like it!"

It's the same place where I go to swim and do aqua aerobics and deep water running classes. They have a pretty nice, clean gym there too and it's all very reasonably priced. Turns out to join up I'm paying less per month than paying each time I go to swim but I'm getting access to gym now as well as all group classes in the pool and the gym. I even get a free personal training session to start me off in the gym. Should be interesting! This is kind of a big step for me. :)"
