pixiechic said: "that sounds fun! i'm sure that tap dancing will do a lot to condition your leg muscles and build your muscles. and it will help to burn calories, no matter how you look at it.
i will see if i can find any calorie information for you.."
pixiechic said: "how was your class? did you have fun?"
pixiechic said: "glad to hear that you had fun!
dancing is a really good way to work up a sweat and burn some calories.
if you really like it, can you take extra classes/ lessons?"
pixiechic said: "cool! so that will take you until about may or june then?
tap dancers always look so cool! is this the first time you have tried it?"
Heather said: "Hi there! Depending on your age and weight, an hour of tap dancing will help to burn about 300 calories.
Did you start the class?"
Heather said: "COOL! That sounds exciting :)
It will be fun. Before you go, remember not to get frustrated. It is like anything else in life. There will be a lot to learn and remember.
Do you know anyone in the class?"
Cupcake said: "How good of a workout is taking a tap dancing class once a week? I'm thinking about starting. :D"
Cupcake said: "I'm 5'3" and 155lbs.
Class starts Thursday night. Its an hour long. I can't wait!"
Cupcake said: "Class starts tonight. I'd loooove high heeled tap shoes, especially to tone my calves... but I think I'm gonna just stick with jazz heel for now. Me and high heeled tap shoes .....thats just asking for a broken ankle! :D"
Cupcake said: "It was pretty fun... I definitely worked up a sweat doing it!!"
Cupcake said: "I signed up for 10 classes.... So I think that'll be good for a while."
UniqueMystique said: "Tap dancing is great! I used to tap when I was younger. I can tell you that you get a more intense workout if you are wearing heeled tap shoes instead of the low heel or jazz heel tap shoes. Not to mention that it helps your balance and tones the calves up nicely. :)"
UniqueMystique said: "The high heels are only about an inch and a half tall. It's not like you'd be dancing on stilts. ;)
Let us know how the class went."
