The 6 Most Common Excuses......The 6 Most Common Excuses......

i have to admit that i'm guilty of making excuses from time to time.
it doesn't seem to help. especially when you're trying to lose weight. you can always find an excuse to make the wrong decision if you look hard enough :("

Some days it seems that no matter what you do, you can't lose weight. But some days you don't do what you're supposed to do. Stop whining and get moving in the light direction. Below are six common excuses and what you can do to avoid using them.
1. I'm too busy to eat right! The average person has less free time than ever. We work more hours and have less time to shop and prepare food. Although “busy” is a legitimate challenge, you may need to work harder. Practice makes perfect.
2. Eating right is too costly! You can eat well without breaking the bank -- it just takes a little planning. Take that money you now spend on pizza or takeout and use it at the grocery store. Take lunch to work instead of going out. Preparing fresh food will save you money in the long run… especially on health care costs!
3. I'm too busy to exercise! Exercise doesn't have to be formal. You don't have to go to a gym or an aerobics class. But you do have to do it. Exercise means getting your heart rate up and maintaining the exertion for a certain amount of time. Don't be intimidated by thinking that you have to do 60 minutes or more a day. Start with as little as 5-7 minutes a day. You will see benefits.
4. I'm always hungry! This is a common complaint for people trying to lose weight. When you're starting on a new weight loss plan, the best strategy is to never be hungry. Hunger can weaken your resolve. The smartest strategy is to eat every few hours to avoid hunger altogether. Split up your main meals. Eating every few hours will help you maintain stable blood sugars and avoid the highs and lows that can trigger cravings.
5. I'm not motivated! Motivation takes work. Weight loss motivation means having to focus on your goal. Realize that it won't happen overnight. Your motivation becomes increasingly internalized as you as you follow your program. No one can make you motivated; that comes from within. Work at it. Take baby steps. With each small success you will be motivated to continue to your goal and beyond.
6. I can’t say NO! Life is full of temptation. But, I hereby empower you to say no. The next time someone offers you food, try one of these great defenses: "Oh that looks wonderful, but I just ate. Thanks anyway."… "That looks wonderful and if you don't mind, I'll take one for later."… "Thank you so much. But I think I'll pass. Maybe next time." With practice, it gets easier. Be firm, but friendly.
