Does this seem like a good days menu?

Regular panfried pork bacon: 4 slices - 145 calories 12g fat 4.4g saturated fat 402mg sodium 8g protein Turkey bacon 4 slices - 140 calories 11g fat 4.0g saturated fat 720mg sodium 8g protein You should probaby do away with both of them. Unless of course you are allowing yourself bad stuff and just accounting for it in your daily intake!"

SportbikeFreak said: "with needing 3000 cal. to maintain your weight i'd say that you need to up your cal intake to at least 2200. thats 800 off your maintain so thats about 1.5lbs a week in weightloss. you can use fitday.com to keep track of everything. i'm working on making my diet 40/40/20 protein/carbs/fat. just make sure that you are getting enough protein (and exercise)to maintain or increase your muscle mass or when you do lose the weight, instead of leaning out you'll just have a mini version of the body you have now since you'll be losing muscle as well. also try to get in a lot of your carbs in the morning and gradually cut them out throughout the day by adding protein. since you've been without food for 8hours or more you'll need the boost of energy that carbs will give you to make it through the day feeling good. just remember to try to cut em down toward the end of the day since you will probably not be as active."

GreenEyes said: "Your meal plan looks great to me! Turkey bacon is yummmy and four slices is not going to hurt. You need the protein so don't do without. I'm getting to the point were I don't care for deli meats either. They are full of sodium and preservitives. Keep up the great work!"

shandajr said: "I would do without the turkey bacon and go with turkey slices. The bacon has too much sodium. Otherwise it looks good to me."

But anyways I just needed reassurance that I was on the right track. ;) Oh about the turkey slices...I dont like deli meat that much. I could really do without it."

Otherwise it looks good to me.[/QUOTE] I agree Shandajr's sodium comment. And maybe use brown or long-grain rice (if you would normally use white). Optional: season bland items with Mrs. Dash (Available in lots of flavors and are calorie free, sodium free, and idiot proof! :D I use it on grilled meats, steamed veggies, and even salads) Otherwise the meal plans look great to me. Good balance of all of the food groups with plenty of emphasis on fruits, veggies and whole grains. Sounds yummy and filling too! Enjoy."

skanee said: "hi,im new here but would like to make a suggestion to you. instead of the egg beaters i buy a carton of eggs and just remove the yoke. its cheaper and taste better."
