December Challenge!

maeden said: "hey everyone, i'm really digging on this site. goals for december: 1. spin 3x/wk 2. go to gym m, t, w, r, sat 3. eat approx 1200-1500 cals per day (i can put it away!) 4. no more beer! 5. 158 by jan 1st 6. enjoy myself good luck everyone!"

maeden said: "spinning is that bike exercise class, we ride for about 45 minutes, doing hill climbs, speed bursts, and 'jumps' where you stand on the bike and sit ten times in a row. it kills but i find it super motivational. my suggestion for the first class? make your only goal to never stop turning the pedals."

badbrat2005 said: "since i am finally starting to lose, my goal is to actually exercise, not drink pop, and eat better. i am hoping to lose about 10 pounds. id be in heaven if i do."

Scarlett said: "So what are your challenges and goals you wish to meet by the end of this month??? Mine go as followed: I want to be up to 3 miles running by the end of the month (I have lots of work to do in that area, I can do 2.5 but I struggle a lot towards the end!) I want to be down to 169 by the end of the month. And I want to come up with a really good core workout and make sure I do it 2-3 times a week religiously. And I want to make sure I am eating all of my fruits and veggies and really try to lay off of the sweets. (that way I'll lose faster!!)"

Scarlett said: "I am sad to say I didn't do well at all on my challenges...any of them... Oh well this is a new month AND new year, no time better to start over but the present!!"

GreenEyes said: "My goals are: 1. Eat between 1200-1500 calories a day. 2. Get to the gym and start working out at least 3 times a week. 3. Pass my finals in school and get ready for winter semester. 4. Drink a lot more water. 5. Make it into the 150's so I can treat myself to something special. 6. Get my four teeth removed so that I can enjoy life again without all the pain. 7. Have fun with my family over the holidays and not stress out too much. I hope that everyone's goals come true! We all can do this!"

Notorious said: "I'm not gonna lie, December is really a maintenance month for me. Between spending endless hours studying for exams and doing research and the holidays slip-ups are almost unavoidable this time of year. But if I can come back to school in January weighing the same as I do when I leave, I will be happy"

shy_doll said: "My goal for the month of December is to just get back on track with eating right and exercising. I lost sight of what I needed to be doing and life got "busy". I have a company christmas party for my husbands work to attend on December 17th but I am NOT looking forward to going as of right now. I have nothing nice to wear and refuse to buy anything new unless I drop some weight/inches...Soooo I think that just about covers it, I just have to get back in the routine and push harder...It's not going to happen if I don't make it happen."

meldives said: "December's going to be hard with all the Christmas parties and what not, but I'll give it a go! Here are my goals... 1. To be 95kg (current weight 99.7) 2. Run for 20min non stop 3. Start a regular strengthening and toning program. I think I can do 1 & 3 ok, but 2 may be a problem. I managed my longest run of 17min non-stop while in London around the lake in St James's Park (anyone know how long that track is??) but since then my shin splints have played up badly and I haven't ran (about 3 weeks). I have made appt's to see the myotherapist and podiatrist and I should be able to get back into a regular treatment regiem (?sp) for them. meldives"

meldives said: "How did everyone go with their december challenges? Me? Not great. I wanted to be 95kg and i'm 97.8...I lost 2kg which is half of what I wanted. I guess one positive is that I was 97.8 a week before christmas and I'm still it at the start of the new year so that means I didn't put anything on over that time and I can now refocus and meet my goal for Jan. I wanted to run for 20min non-stop...well I kicked that goal out of the ground :D My longest run was 45min and 5km :) I also wanted to start a regular strengthing and toning program. I bought the weights and fitball and did it for a couple of nights, but I find it tedious and need to be pushed. I'm not sure what my plans are at the moment as I have applied for a job overseas, but if i don't get it, I am going to get a personal trainer to specifically work on the strength and toning. Then I'll have someone to push me"

Becky H said: "I am trying to follow a 1200 calorie diet, and have been doing pretty good these last couple of weeks, so I want to keep that up, as well as work out 5 times a week. If all goes well, I hope to wear a couple of pairs of pants that I can't fit into right now."

Cadence said: "I'm gonna hit those 150's....ooooh ya."

fitwitch said: "I've got a couple of goals here... 1. Be able to run 1.75 miles or 2 miles straight. 2. I'd like to get down to a 12 minute mile... or 11:45 3. Continue drinking as much water as I can.... 3 or 4 33.3 ounce bottles per day(or whatever the big bottles are) 4. Try to eat less fatty foods 5. Prepare myself to possibly be working 2 jobs for the month of December (and early January) I interview Friday for a receptionist job at a Vet Clinic, so it would be really nice to get that job! 6. Walk/Jog 5 times a week and do Pilates 3 times a week. (edited to add one more goal)"

fitwitch said: "I didn't do well at all on mine.... maybe hit one or two goals.... the drinking water one and.... well.... that maybe all....January will be better though"

Sottile said: "Well December is a tough month for me. I go stay with my parents for a couple of weeks and I never diet when I do that. But my biggest goal is to not go too crazy off track, but to also keep up some kind of exercise routine there. I can't do my Pilates or Tai Chi or get to my treadmill or do my pool classes. BUT I do want to get to the pool and put in some regular laps while I'm there so that I minimise any damage done from being home and totally out of my normal routine. So to officially commit it: * Swim 3 x per week. * Go for walks at least 2 x per week. * Don't gain more than 2kg in weight!! :( GOOD LUCK everyone!"

naynay said: "this is going to be a very stressful month for me but here goes 1) Eat between 1200 and 1500 cals 2) Exersice at least three times a week 3) To be 305 be the end of the month 4) Not overdo it for Christmas 5) Stick with the good foods, i just found out that i have borderline diabeties"

naynay said: "maeden what is spin?"

naynay said: "maeden oh ok that sound cool , but hard, hmmm that would be good for bike riders who cant ride in the winter"

naynay said: "lol i love reese's peanut butter cups, but now I dont eat them that much :D"

naynay said: "that is always nice when someone says that to you :)"

secondchance said: "My goals for the month: 1. Don't eat after 7 pm 2. Go down to 4 soda's a week ( as opposed to the 7+) 3. Increase exercise from 30 min a day to 45 min. (and do it before midnight) 4. Make my size 18's loose. 5. drink a lot of water. 6. reese's peanut butter cups- twice a week, (not 5 times) 7. eat at work once every two weeks! secondchance said: "I swear, those reese's peanut butter cups are my undoing. Especially the new Big cups.
